Glastonbury would take me between 4 and 4.5hrs in the car and 5 hrs by train. That would be a long day! I'd love to make the trip sometime though, as festival aside, I've never actually been <hangs head in shame>.

No indeed she can't, no one can!

I thought you were replying *to*, not *about*, Pathwalker.

@ CharlotteK - Glastonbury is a fun visit! But I've only been two or three times despite living "within range". And so is Avebury: similar spirit, but a village with only one new-agey type shop, just one of my favourite places though. You meet more sheep in Avebury than in Glastonbury.

You simply must go, CharlotteK - it's a gorgeous, magical little place! I've visited lots of times (NEVER for the festival miles away!)

I now live in south Dorset. MandMaud, PathWalker, everyone - I'd love to meet you, if it's not too long / difficult a drive!

I have a friend in Bridport whom I keep threatening to visit... and an ambition to spend a couple of months touring everyone I know all over the UK... though that tour must wait till the dog dies () as I wouldn't kennel her for that long!

I once woke up in the passenger seat just as we arrived in Glastonbury, and stayed very woozy for a while, long enough to look in a few shops and still be not with-it when paying for something. When I apologised (I think I stared blankly at the assistant while she stared at me waiting to be paid), she said, "Don't worry, this is Glastonbury, we're used to it."

I've never been to the festival either.
