Mercury Retrograde

Hey All,

So i've read a bunch of stuff about Mercury retrograde - however i'd like to read some info / insight from peeps on the forum.

What does Mercury retrograde mean for you?

Cheers,

Well, Mercury retrograde is typically a time when you can expect a lot of delays, technology and appliances breaking down (for instance, in this year's retrograde, my Macbook's graphics card decided to stop working out of the blue and now the whole computer has to go and be repaired), oh, and mishaps and misunderstandings with communication.

If you practice any kind of occult magick, you'll have to make sure your intentions are even clearer because Mercury could mess with you and give you something wonky if you aren't clear enough. Also, I'd avoid making any big ticket purchases at this time, and I'd also allot extra time when traveling, because you can typically expect delays.

That tends to be the general experience for most people, however, it's been said that certain people are more susceptible to this retrograde than others, largely based on planetary positions in their natal charts.

For me Mercury retro means to take care: concerning communications, misunderstandings are possible, or clumsinesses, slips of the tongue, errors.
In travellings I am careful because unexpected incidents are possible.
In transactions I am mindful. The best is probably to avoid to sign important contracts when Mercury is retrograde.

But very often I forget Mercury is retrograde and I live normally :)

Same here. Knowing it's Merc Retro makes highlights everyday mishaps which I normally would just shrug off. :D

as well as everything else people have written here, I find the retrograde can be a time when people from your past suddenly come back into your life or your bump into them or they suddenly add you on Facebook, that sort of thing! "Blast from the past". Things from the past come back and a positive of this can be tying up lose ends and problems (but they have to have occurred before the retrograde).

This seems to be happening to me with this one already, two technology problems I have been having with companies have suddenly resolved. One was for a gift voucher from a company and they never sent it! My (really good) Dentist threw everyone who had NHS treatment (socialised medicine) off her books (because her budgets were not making ends meet anymore with socialised medicine :( ) and would only have private patients and so earlier in the year I had to move to someone new. She phoned on day one of the retrograde to take some patients back and I could transfer back to her. The really intriguing with with that is that I had a letter to ditch her NHS patients in an earlier retrograde this year :) So this retrograde has resolved a situation that happened from an earlier one.

I think also there is a lesson that we should not live our whole lives with our computers and phones, when things go wrong it's too teach us we can survive! We don't have to look at a screen every hour to get notifications :) I always back up my phone and computers a week before every retrograde though but I don't get too anxious about it! It's a natural cycle like anything else! :)

When I first heard about Mercury Retrogrades several years ago I didn't pay it much attn. The past few years though, when computers, copiers, equipment, and communication at work are all failing at once I have checked to see if it was Mercury retrograde, and sure enough it has been. It's happened so much at work during the retrograde that now coworkers ask me when things are all haywire, "Is it Mercury Retrograde?"

Sometimes you can go through a Mercury retrograde unaffected. The most notable things that have transpired for me within a Mercury retrograde is car problems. One retrograde I remember having a light come in in my dashboard and it was a fairly new car. Anyways i was told it was dust on the wires or something and the light went away. Very next retrograde the same light came back on and I thought it was just dirt again. Nope, battery died then found out that there was something up with the electronics (I'm hopeless with cars so do not know anything about them lol).

Phone problems too! I remember once during a retrograde having problems with my iphone where apps wouldn't work, storage was full, not receiving text messages etc...

Also my vacumm cleaner usually dies during a retrograde lol I use a vacumm cleaner daily so they get a work out, Mercury retrograde comes along and boom, vacumm konks out and I'm forced to buy a knew one and I hate buying electronics during retrograde!

In another retrograde an old crush came into my life full force! My god everything was brought to the table but by the time the retrograde had finished he was gone and I was left feeling kind of sad. So definitely a time to reconnect with old flames.

Other things can be feeling mentally blocked, not seeing or understanding the whole story, for me at uni I have to reread everything and spend more time on assessments and other uni tasks that I usually wouldn't need to. Any type of communication whether it's in person, on the phone, via text, in a book, magazine etc can become really fuzzy, tone can be misinterpreted, the information misunderstood etc Ivd heard that it's an ideal time to work on past projects, not so good to start new ones though.

Don't buy expensive electronics!

during Mercury Retrograde, my computers go wonky, as does any of the electronics in our home. They usually are a bit wonky around me anyway--not always working--but it explains a lot that the M.R. started on the 17th.

It was that day that I noticed quite a few applications on my laptop all of a sudden were missing or not opening for me. But, other then that, nothing unusually crazy (or at least more crazy then is normal) has been happening here to me. I hope it doesn't too!

THANK YOU!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for posting and giving me some more insight into mercury retrograde!
It makes a lot of sense. I'll get back to each of you soon.

Cheers,

** Thanks for commenting on this. I was waiting to read something like this! For me, usually the retrograde just causes me a few issues with communication, like emails and stuff... However this retrograde BAM! Huge blast from the past... It almost like a lot of 'dark' or hidden or untold stuff has waited until now.... NOT sure what that's all about... NOT sure if there is some planetary alignment is happening which is helping this along...
OR i'm just ready to deal with stuff, a person from the past and let it go completely! Strange tho! So blasts from the past and tying up loose ends REALLY resonated with me.
Thanks for sharing that! **

** Yeah, it's funny (ok not really...) lets say interesting that 'strange' things happen. Like the retrograde ruffles everyones feathers, if you're aware of it.... then it settles down **
I've just had some dental work done, and it was cheaper than I had expected... BONUS! :p**

** Yeah, this is true. If peeps are able to enjoy the great out doors a little more during the retrograde, and less time on the computer or phone, that's a good thing. I pretty much need to be scared into anything to stop. LOL! But thanks again, for reminding me it's a 'natural cycle'. Lots of stuff that you've said resonated for me - so thanks again! **
