Erotic decks

What do people think of these? I have been looking at decameron tarot and tarot of casanova. Can these be read with or are they just for collectors?

Sophie

I own Lori Walls' Erotica Tarot and I do read with it, but not on every topic - mainly about human interaction (including, but not only, love & sex).

I know other people read with the two you have mentioned, I've seen some readings with the Decameron and the Casanova.

I think I'd just be far too distracted by the *ahem* artwork to be able to concentrate on the reading, but your mileage may vary. *grumbles about teenage hormones* ;)

I havent seen them, but I am certainly going to check them out. I have always wondered though... is there a Kama Sutra Tarot deck?

Frankly, I'm a prude. I blush everytime I turn up The Lovers from the Robin Wood deck because of the quite detailed nudity. So I cannot see myself reading with an erotic deck in the future. :D Though I think some of them look quite well done.

Wow! The RW deck's details are tame by comparison! The male isn't even aroused as in some of the other decks!

Eros should not be made parallel with 'pornos.' Human nudity is not a turn-off for me, but degradation is, and some of these 'erotic' decks are degrading to women, particularly with graphic depictions of forced sex. In one particular deck (called in English 'The Garden of the Penises') there is a whole lot of stuff I would find hard to lay out for a querent ... but plain ol' nudity? No problem! :smoker: One of the most tasteful decks with nudity (and no sexual activity) is Tavaglione's 'Tarot of the Stars,' a deck I enjoy working with.

I know its not a strictly erotic deck but I've always enjoyed using the Rohrig. I have the edited version (pants on Hanged Man) but there are still a few cards in there that have an erotic nature about them.

There's the Kama Sutra Cards but they look more like an oracle deck than a tarot deck proper.

That's just it; he's not aroused but he's still so big. Every time I turn up the card, I can't help but wonder what he must look like when he is 'happy'; Citrin may blush and look away but I can't stop staring. :p Maybe we should both take out a permanent marker and draw some underwear on the happy couple to keep our minds focused on the reading (and in my case, out of the gutter)...
