Smaller Sized Oracle Decks?

G6

I also prefer smaller size cards. I have the Belline Oracle, which I love, as well as Enchanted Map and Earth Magic. The Sibilla decks and Kipper decks and their variants are also sized like playing cards, as are most Lenormand decks.

The Belline is pricey. Is it worth it? What system is it? Just its own symbols type oracle or is it a lenormand?

Oracle of the House of Night are still "oracle size" but the card stock is pretty flimsy so it's not so bad shuffling.

The Oracle of the House of the Night looks cheesy. Is it? I think you like cheesy cards, MissNine. I do too just different kinds of cheese I think. ;-)

If you scroll down to the last post you'll see my deck interview with it that I did this morning.
I really like it. I find it quite intuitive. The Rackham didn't come with a guidebook either. Tbh I rarely use them, though. I read through the one for the Earth Magic Oracle and hadn't really found a need to. In my experience I tend to only need the guidebooks when the deck is particularly themed, such as when, like the Mythic Oracle or other historically-based deck (including religious and historical iconography) I need help with the personages involved.
But Earthbound is just a word and an image (as is Rackham) which I find helpfully intuitive. And if you struggle you can use a dictionary.

That's cool. I like Earthbound. I like the one word, one image too.

This one has kind of a Nicoletta Ceccoli vibe minus the Jonbenet Ramsey creepiness.

Again though, I don't know if these are huge cards.

I have WotO. They are bigger, not quite Blue Angel big, around 3.5 x 5 inches.

The AboraMana are a nice smaller size, though this deck may not appeal to everyone. The creator has come up with quite the elaborate system/ world view... the cards can be read intuitively, though.

If you're patient, you can find it on eBay at reasonable prices. I bought mine a few months ago for under $20.

It's kind of its own system. I don't really know how to compare it to anything else. You can get an idea, though, by reading the LWB translation that Padma so generously did for me here: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=250366 There's also a more recent version of the deck called Tarot D'Eltyne. That version has different art (most of which I really like, except for the people, who all look like anime characters), but the same interpretations. You can read about that here: http://mandefield.free.fr/eltynne_en/

I also got the sense from the LWB translation that the deck is very flexible and can work with a variety of methods. I've been experimenting with reading it much like I read Lenormand, and that seems to be working very well. But I think it can work more like other oracles do, too.

Hey AJ,

I don't think I'm into the art on the AborMana.

Other than the slightly larger cards do you like Wisdom of the Oracle?

Also, can they be trimmed smaller?

Hmm, these are interesting. I'm real surprised you found the Belline for less than $20 on eBay. I've only seen it on eBay from $60-125. Are the cards big? I don't know how crazy I am about it. This Tarot D'Eltyne was interesting to look at, but WoW it would look so much better boarder less and you can't trim it because of that circle in every corner. How long did it take you to learn the Belline?
