What is this alphabet?

I bought this amulet in an antique store. But i don't know what it means. Is it hebrew?

A few look as though they are meant to be runes, not drawn too well - but the others ring no bells for me. Anyone else have a clue?

well, it certainly looks interesting for sure. The centre symbol within the pentagram reminds me of a Golden Dawn symbol....

I wonder if that is a clue. One symbol looks like the astrological symbol for Aries.

Not sure what script it is....it doesn't look Enochian...(I don't remember seeing "F"'s)

Anyway, interesting. Thanks for sharing.

What about stylized Greek?

This puzzled me (I love enigmas), but I think I found it.

By this alphabet, the hexagram of your amulet says (not surprisingly) TE TRA GRAM MA TON (Tetragrammaton, "four-lettered name", i.e. the name of God),
and the pentagram says MICHAEL. The "L" of Michael is in the center. Since it has Michael, it is a protective pentacle.

Here is another text in this alphabet -

The first word, written right to left, is "Super" - I haven't done the rest of it yet.

Both alphabet and text are from François Ribadeau Dumas, Grimoires et rituels magiques (Paris, Belfond, 1980 and 1998), pp. 164, 315.

Thanks Ross, you solve it!

I've been looking - I have a lot of grimoires and books on magic - but I can't find anything else about it.

The second text seems to come from a book called "Le véritable Dragon Noir", which might give some leads, but your pentacle is not reproduced in it. The problem with researching grimoires is that they plagiarized so much, and so many are badly printed, omitting images and sometimes text.

I'm trying to get more on it, as I look around.

Here is a pentacle identical to yours - see second from last, at the bottom of the page -

(in case it is not clear, see
http://www.rosscaldwell.com/magic/xpensalomons.jpg )

The description doesn't really explain it -

Another site calls the "alphabet sacré", the alphabet of Abbé Julio. He is a writer who created popular charms in the 19th century, so maybe his book has it. These kinds of books are still in print in France.

Edited, more on the Abbé Julio -
