We seem to say the same thing over and over in the 'deck cutting' threads:

should I cut my deck? no i dont want to but i kinda do but what happens if i mess up and im not sure but i think it looks nice and i wish i could cut perfectly but my hands shake and im not that patient so i dont know if i want to but i really do.....

Please remember they are paper.

OK. So here are all the posts I could find, and i'll add more if I find them.

Trimming or modifying decks...

I modified the backs of a deck of mine and have been very pleased...

It's the Sacred Circle deck and the backs on it annoyed me because I read reverses and since I don't use a shuffling method to pick my cards, a design that clearly shows which way is up kind of ruins it for me...

So I used a roll of dark green contact paper to re-cover the backs! I just measured carefully, left a smidge of extra room in case, and carefully applied the new backs, using some nice, sharp scissors to trim neatly around the card. It took some time and my friends thought I was nuts, but it works great for me!

They look nice and their asmmetrical backs are no longer an issue to bug me! The cards are a little thicker now, but like I said, I don't shuffle, so it doesn't matter, although I think they could be shuffled still. Just an idea for ya!

Druidcraft fronts and backs, as received and with two different trim options. Miss Cleo, before and after, with white border gone.

Just FYI, it only takes about 2 hours to trim a deck, time well spent.
I used good quality scissors with 6" blade, and a corner rounder from Stampin' Up. I practiced cutting and rounding on a freebie casino deck of playing cards while I worked up my moxie to do the real job.

A long while later....

I never did find the "cleo" deck that ugly--it was just labeled with a bad name. It is simple, but I think its a good deck for the beginner (and cheap!).
