Smoky Quartz

Dee Ell

I got this gorgeous smoky quartz sphere last year I thought you all might enjoy seeing, and I keep finding myself drawn to the smoky quartz (unintentionally) when I go into the crystals shop (smoky quartz and fluorite (the purple and green kind)) for some reason.

Anyone have any opinions on why I keep gravitating toward it? ;)

(those are not my fingers in the picture, by the way!)

I've added some more pics that I took myself a few posts down if you're interested in seeing it from different angles/light sources :)

What a beauty! I love smoky quartz too. I've found that it's a great pal for our adventure as humans. Smoky helps us work on shadow and dark issues and I've found that it helps a lot of people process loss and grief. With smoky quartz around we tend to smile in spite of ourselves.

There is a thread called My Crystal Ball in the Divination sub-forum that you might like. Come post your picture there and join the fun!

That is gorgeous!

At one time there was a crystal study group on AT. Turns out it was a bit further back in time than I remembered when I went hunting for the threads.

I did find this one on Smoky Quartz.

Here is the study group index.

Thank you all :)

And thanks zannamarie for the links - I appreciate that!

Well, this would make sense given my recent post in another section regarding my PTSD, but I definitely don't find myself "smiling in spite of myself" :p

I'm uploading a few more pics I've taken indoors (with no flash) - several during the day from the "underside" of the rainbow bit, and two taken at night but from the top again - one is taken next to my gorgeous calcite sphere for comparison so you can see the lovely smokiness of it :)

Wow, those are spectacular pictures! Thanks for sharing them. It's great that you feel drawn to it, I think it must mean it is calling to you on some type of intuitive level :)
