Pyramid - Identifying Material

Margo9023

Question about Pyramind for Altar... Hi Everyone! I've been wanting a Pyramid to put on my altar. I found one at the thrift-store yesterday. Its not the kind that opens like a box. But, it is about 3 inches height and has 4 sides, 5 the being the bottom. I've read that their suppose to be good to generate possitive energy. I don't know if they have to be a certain material? Mine is made in the Philippines and is like a creamy white with like a darker creamier white going through it. I'm trying to figure out what it is -its heavy. If I could get some feedback it would be greatly appreciated. Margo

The more I look at this image, the more I think it's onyx. Onyx is a form of Chalcedony (the Quartz family of stones) which occurs in a variety of colors, including but not limited to black.. In fact, a lot of the black onyx that's available on the market today has been dyed black.

Onyx, in its natural state, can have banding, which it appears this pyramid has, and this is certainly in the right color range for undyed onyx.

Hi shelikes2read! On the bottom there is a sticker that says made in the Philippines - don't know if that makes adifference?
Thank you again, Margo

The Made in Philippines could suggest water buffalo ivory ... but no (see below)

Its the patterna all over it that is curious ... little fractures that make 'cells'.

It is not like a stone but more like ivory.

The thing is it looks like old antique ivory. But from a thrift shop???

Check the links to the pics below ... old ivory is the closest.

It doesn't seem like onyx or chalcedony (any that I can see), because of that texture.

Maybe it is a type of resin (as it was from a thrift shop I am assuming cheap) that imitates old ivory?

Hi ravenest! Thank you so much! It's very very heavy - is a resin heavy?
Yes, I found it a very large Thrift-store in PA. I only paid a couple dollars for it. I luv thrift-ting!
The closest is the Ivory, but wouldn't that be lighter in weight.
It feels cold like a stone or something, don't know if resin gets cold?
Luv & Peace,
Margo

'tis indeed a mystery.

That's it! That's what you have ... a mystery pyramid :)

The only way would be to track it back wards from thrift store, to supplier, to importer ...

Lol!!!! I think your right! But the thrift store gets donations, so I don't think they'll remember - I could try. : )
I took some more photos!

Briar Rose

bring it to a crystal shop and ask them to identify it. Maybe it's soap stone.

Onyx, chalcedony is too expensive.
It's not bone or ivory. I seriously doubt it.
Resin- doubtful to go through that process. Why?

Most of these are either an agate or soap stone, usually.

The only search I can come up with is:

- in Philippines we have the so called "chocolate hills" -- 1,776 strange pyramidal hills. There are voices suggesting that these may also be earth-covered pyramids.

Maybe the hills are speaking to you. I am being serious about that btw.

Hi Briar Rose! And thank you! Do I research this information and how can I learn and see if they are talking to me?
Luv & Peace
