I think I remember somebody recommending that people look up the website for the Greenwood, when looking at these cards, that it might make more sense than the book meanings.
I actually like the description in the book, but I see nothing about a wake/celebration of the spirit who has passed on, in this card. I only see the ravens swooping overhead, and the main raven finishing off what's left of the meat on the carcass of a deceased deer (?). I suppose it's a good reminder of the circle of life, and this card is spooky - appropriate for Samhain.
I also now wonder if Bran the Blessed has anything to do with the one boy being named Bran in Game of Thrones. I think he sees/travels through a bird, doesn't he? I'm going to have to google, since I'm only a little familiar with the characters and stories.
