I just shuffle the cards, then cut them: that is Hexagram #1.
I then shuffle them again, and cut: that is Hexagram #2.
The changing lines are those lines changing from #1 to #2.

By not *dealing* two cards, I don't exclude generating an "unchanging" hexagram.

The three coin method is mathematically biased towards generating broken lines, and those in turn are interpretively biased to advise remaining passive over taking action. The yarrow stalk method has different odds; there are other methods, again, with differing selection odds.

I like using the cards to select hexagrams because, well, they're cards, and they're good for that; and I am a Tarot reader and know it works; and I'm impatient. Aries.
