My best friend and I are creating decks for each other - here they are!

My best friend Leigh and I decided to create a deck for each other, card by card. I mentioned it in another thread. These are our cards. We've titled the project The Shewns Tarot Deck Project - Shewns being a combination of our last names.

Here are mine first. That is, the ones I drew for her.


Keep in mind that the color didn't quite transfer well enough from the colored pencil to the scan. We're also bad artists, lol.

This is the 5 of Cups.

The stick figure (lol) is Leigh. That's spilled grape soda (our favorite), spilled milk (an inside joke about milk) and a toppled fishbowl, to symbolize the fish that died recently. The drinks that are still standing are iced tea (she loves it) and vodka... which she also loves, LOL.

This is The Fool, 0.

The picture in the card is totally random. I just pictured an orange leaving the tree for a better life, lol. So there he is.

This is The Hermit, IX.

The picture in the card is her ex-boyfriend, taking photos of himself looking creepy. LOL BIG inside joke.

This is the 10 of Wands.

The picture is of 10 pills; my friend has a little bit of a medication... issue. I forgot to add the words "10 of Wands" but added them after this scan.

This is the Queen of Pentacles.

The picture is of a Queen overlooking her fertile land. She has lots of money but is generous. She has a baby in the bassinet.

Aaaaand this is the 7 of Swords. I LOVE THIS CARD! It's Noodles and Company, where we work. That's, like, exactly what our front stations look like - down to the colors, etc. The meaning actually applies to the picture, but it's hard to describe if you don't work at Noodles.

I especially love your fool card. Maybe it's my moniter's color settings, but i totally thought they were apples. And it made me think of Johnny Appleseed...wandering around past the frontier, planting orchards all over the place so that when the settlers got there, there'd be plenty of cider makings to keep em good and drunk. (really!)

Talk about comparing apples to oranges, huh? (eyes rolling) Anyway, it's a cool picture, and I like the Johnny Appleseed Fool idea, so thanks for making that connection in my brain (even accidentally!)

I tried adjusting the color for the scanning, but they still came out wonky. They are very orange in real life.

Her favorite of mine was the Fool too, and that was the one I just kind of pulled out of my bum.
