looking for some help on what spread is used...

Hey all

I went to a psychic a couple of years ago and she she did a reading for me...it didn't involve any questions I basically sat down and she did a spread where she did 3 rows of 3 or 4 cards (cant exactly remember how many cards were in each row) and she did that about 3 times...does anyone know what that could be...? it's a shot in the dark i know but i am curious if anyone has done this or has had it done that can maybe shed some light ?

it's interpreted as either (in this interpretation each row is the past, present and future of a situation):
line 1 = past
line 2 = present
line 3 = future

or:
column 1 = about the querent
column 2 = what the querent loves most
column 3 = hopes and fears
column 4 = expectations/ambitions
column 5 = the unexpected
column 6 = near future
column 7 = further developments
