I was so stoked for this, since their catalog did say it would be available by this month. Too bad it seems they moved the release date to October. Oh well.

Is it me or are the Sola Busca cards released at 11.05.2017 and 08.10.2017 not different in drawing and colour?the first more cartoon like and the last more detailed and more like the original cards

Judging by the Lo Scarabeo catalogue, they are very brightly colored and look more cartoonish. Most of the more expensive decks use colors that are more subdued but these are based on the deck as it looks now. Since the Lo Scarabeo reprint claims reproduction accuracy, I think the bright colors are what the deck really looked like when new during their use in the 1400s.

If you are looking for a collector's item Sola Busca deck check out this:
https://solabuscatarot1998mayer.wordpress.com/

1. this is the only version of the 78 cards faithful to the original, for colours and measures (exactly 150 x 82 mm, i.e. 5.9 x 3.2 inches);

2. Wolfgang Mayer printed only 700 copies, numbered and signed.

I bought it about a year ago directly from Giordano Berti. The printing is hard to describe, it has texture and kind of clay earthy smell. It's a really old school process.
The card backs are blank which put me off at first but the prints are so deep and rich and beautiful I soon got past that.

There is a lot of information at the website about Sola Busca in general and this deck in particular. If you are a collector and/or have a special interest in Sola Busca, it's worth a look.

The Mayer decks sold out last year, but Giordano re-printed his own edition of them, and those are available on his website.

I didn't know that. I must have gotten one of the last of the Mayer ones.

yeaaa I'm going to wait to see. I am reading The Game of Saturn right now and I have the Myer deck but would welcome another version if it was from the original. I have seen pics of the LS deck that do look like a recoloring in some so I'll patiently wait till things get figured out. They are being a big vague on the source of the deck in the description.

There is another thread dealing with 'The Game of Saturn':

http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread...=266497&page=5

It includes comments on the book, including my own impressions, and comments by the author, Peter Mark Adams. Also links to articles by him. Scarlet Imprint are planning a new edition of the deck, but I have not seen any dates:
