Duck Soup Decks

Freder

Instead of maintaining a bunch of separate threads for the different decks I've done and have in progress, I'm starting this new single thread, and I won't be updating the old threads -- may they rest in peace. I think having it all in a single thread will be maybe slightly less annoying for folks -- maybe?

So -- the latest addition is not a true tarot deck, but more of a gateway drug along the lines of the old Gypsy Witch deck: It's based on my Zirkus Magi deck, and it's called "ZIRKUS brand Fortune Telling Playing Cards." and it's found here: http://circustarot.blogspot.com/p/new.html

Meanwhile, work on the PUNCH tarot proceeds apace... I've just completed the Cups (not counting the Court cards) and think that the thing is starting to shape up. Mister Punch is found here: http://punchtarot.blogspot.com

These are but the latest additions to the family. First Edition copies of the Zirkus Magi are going fast; meanwhile, my Golliwogg Oracle and Marvelous Oracle of Oz have "morphed" into a "series" of sorts: I'm calling them "The Playroom Oracles," and they will be joined soonish by a third Oracle deck based on vintage childhood literature that I've only just begun.

Thank you to all the nice folks who've been so kind about my efforts so far. I hope that you'll like the stuff that I'm working on now! I'm in the process of changing things around and will be relying less on The Game Crafter in future. A lot is potentially going on, which simply means that a lot could be blowing up in my face -- soon!

And I promise -- I won't be posting or cross-posting outside this thread.

Today I'm making an important (to me, anyway) announcement about the Zirkus Mägi: and it's as much about what I _can't_ say as what I can.

http://circustarot.blogspot.com

Also, TWO versions of Zirkus brand Fortune Telling Playing Cards (including one that's fully customizable) are now available. You can find info about them at the same addy.

My tarot homepage now has a brand-new dot-com address of its own. It's www.tarotbyducksoup.com .

Also, to clarify the previous announcement: On Wednesday, March 25, the price will go up on the two First Edition ZIRKUS MÄGI decks. This is to create room for a new edition of the deck, a ROADSHOW edition that will be smaller, lighter, somewhat less pricy and also completely customizable. If you want The Big Deck at the current price, you have one week left!

New Deck Available!

Here's something that I did just for fun, and in the hope that others will like it, too:

IL LOMBARDI DANNEGGIATO, a deeply distressed and tarnished rendition of a classic Italian deck, is now available in a Standard Edition. Read about it and view some pictures of the deck here: http://punchtarot.blogspot.com/p/presenting-il-lombardi.html

... or you can follow the deck link at my site, www.tarotbyducksoup.com .

Thank you!!

Hey Freder!

What do the standard backs on the Zirkus Magi Roadshow Edition and Zirkus Lenormand look like?

Thanks,
MaryHeather

The Lombardi looks wonderful. I wonder why there is so little echo to this deck. I'm quite fascinated with it.

I'm working on the bordered version now. Should be available by mid-June, I think. It will be nice, I think, but no longer "authentic" ...

Thanks for the post!
