Druid Animal Oracle Study Group-Bee

2dogs

This is a very bright, summery and happy looking card, showing a large queen bee resting on a rock, looking at the sun high above. A path zig zags away through purple heather, past a carved statue and other upright stones, leading to a large thatched building in the distance.

This bee has what it needs, the warm sun and flowering heather for food, and is probably thinking of making a nest like the building in which it can raise its family, which will be so numerous as to form a complete tribe of its own. A building of the size shown would appear to be for more of a shared, communal use than for a single family.

The guidebook describes the building as an assembly hall and gives the meanings of celebrating the regular Druid festivals in the company of others or just celebrating the joy of being alive, living in harmony in a community, being in touch with the natural world.

The Heather card in the Druid Plant Oracle also includes bees and thatched houses, plus a hive. The messages of this are very similar - good fortune, celebration and community, and recommends developing positive thoughts about other people and becoming more involved in the various types of community in one's life.

The emphasis in the Green Man Tree Oracle is more on luck, which is strengthened by dropping restrictive conditioning and following one's true path in life.

The sun and bees occur in a couple of cards of the Sacred Circle Tarot -

The Sun - which describes bees as possessing secret wisdom and knowledge of the future. This card also encompasses optimism, energy, health and clarity of understanding.

The Lady - the nature goddess often depicted as a queen bee, the feminine energy generating all things. This again mentions harmonious relationships, working with others and connecting with other beings and the environment.
