Any spiritual significance with the Solar Eclipse?

I want to celebrate it. But I can't find any information on the historical, social significance of the solar eclipse in society: Chinese, Meso-American, Native American, or Ancient Egyptian.

I am really more interested in Ancient Egyptian though.
