The 10 of Swords is overkill. The density of her novel it may mean she needs to go back and do her cutting of everything that isn't needed or that doesn't work well. The tendency when writing is to throw everything into the pot, but the real test is when you edit. Sometimes even the most wonderful stuff just won't fit. I usually take those parts and save them and sometimes they fit in another work.
