Is this relevant? Showing 22 paths plus 10...

http://www.byzant.com/tarot/kabbalah.asp

Unfortunately, I can only follow some of the numbering suggested in the various posts and names of those who historically did linking-theory-suggestions.

Perhaps it is only a synopsis or re-hash of old ideas. Sorry if that is the case.

Path arrangement

Yes, Cerulean, but that chart doesn't show the letters: take the Hebrew letters and line them up next to LeMat through XXI LeMonde in order, correlate straight across, put the letters in place of the cards and you have what I was referring to.

The reason this arrangement interests me is that the paths leading in to the center (6) are: G, the scorpio (first sign on inward side) of the Cauldron (lower half of 2nd of Ezekiel’s wheels) – whose vertical marks the inmost limit of the Egg, or zodiac of 12 ‘simples’ (3rd wheel) – followed by the simple letters of that side of the Egg in order (as reconstructed by me based on tree-calendar and phonetics), heh-zayin-yod-lamedh-nun-samekh (scorpio to aries), followed by the vowel of spring that causeth an issuing forth onto the nature or outer side from samekh or aries.

I have postulated the order was rearranged into the alphabet and have already established the rationale amongst the 12 simples themselves (it was a delightfully simple code), but here is a possible hint as to a method of how the order of the 22 might have been generated (from established calendar- or ogham-order).

On the other hand (I have not resolved this in my own head yet), there are 3 horizontal paths, 7 vertical ones, and 12 diagonal ones, making this is a tempting alternative approach. I would love to see it solved in my lifetime (rabbis do not of course agree on a solution), as one of my first impressions of Kabbalah as it is generally taught is that the paths looked like an interesting breakdown of things.

"Look at the size of that Flounder!"

Seriously...let's go back to the question: How (and why) is it that the first 10 cards of the Major Arcana
are associated with the Sephora, and why use numberological reduction for the Majors over 10 to have them conform as well? Is the Pythagorean Decad the final authority for such matters?

Try as I might - I'm having a difficult time with the concept of XVIII=9 and now you talk wheels?

I think it's a flat tire - back to the tackle box.

According to the attributions you choose

Lay out the 22 cards of the Major Arcana like a wheel,
following clock positions, faced as we are, East, put:

Aries 3 o'clock
Gemini 4 o'clock
Taurus 5 o'clock
Cancer 6 o'clock
Leo 7 o'clock
Virgo 8 o'clock
Libra 9 o'clock
Scorpio 10 o'clock
Sagittarius 11 o'clock
Capricorn 12 o'clock
Aquarius 1 o'clock
Pisces 2 o'clock

Put the cards for the planets/elements in position,
placed next to each of the signs as an outer wheel,
and according to their Mesopotamian exaltations:

Aries ~ Sun
Taurus ~ MOON
Gemini ~ North Node (shadow planet, no card)
Cancer ~ Jupiter
Leo ~ SHIN
Virgo ~ Mercury
Libra ~ Saturn
Scorpio ~ MEM
Sagittarius ~ South Node (shadow planet, no card)
Capricorn ~ Mars
Aquarius ~ ALEPH
Pisces ~ Venus

There is the 22 card "order" of the Tarot. Got a nibble?

Number Nibbles

Here's another twist on the Numbers Game:

Kabbalah is basically ~ Magical Numerological Astrology.
That's the whole gimmick in a nutshell. A small nutshell.

So what about cards that correspond with Zodiac Signs?
There are NUMBERS that go with each of the Houses...
so wouldn't that then mean that the cards would too? :)

Think about it, and then figure in the Planets! Got a bite?

I've been reading Cheiro's book of numbers and I noticed
how in my mind I kept questioning what he was saying...
then it occurred to me to simply go along with it naturally
and allow the meaning to "be there" whatever I thought.

It made a big difference right away, especially in how
I felt! ~ the truth never really makes sense unless
you live it... and nobody can explain things logically.

Do you see this working..? or that? let it fan out around
your consciousness and sink into your inner sensibilities.

Cheiro mentioned 13 Signs of the Zodiac and I blinked,
but in Sergius Golowin's book I later found that there
are 13 signs: a sun god in the center of 12 moon gods.

Typo or transcendental truth... being right is too easy.
In this life it's fish or cut bait~and that's alright by me.
