New Rumi Oracle

Madrigal

Blue Angel is bringing out an oracle based on Rumi's poetry and teachings. Looks like it will be available in November directly from the publisher and in March of next year on Amazon. A view of some of the cards here. I'll be curious to see what they do with this. All the pics visible have a very ethereal quality to them, not what I associate with the earthiness of Rumi's poetry. Still I'm intrigued by the titles of some of the cards. Wish there was a way to look at the LWB.

Oh thank you for posting about this, dear Madrigal!

i didn't know about this, and i LOVE all things Rumi...so...
this will most likely be a "must have" for me! :D
The art also looks very ethereal and lovely! i would love to see more
of how it will work With JR's magnificent Poetry.

I'll be interested, too, to see which verses and teachings of his they use and how they pair up the artwork.

I LOVE RUMI!

In fact, a quote of his is on my background on my computer. I do wonder how or if that will translate to an oracle. Just because I love someone's work, doesn't mean that can make a good tarot or oracle deck. It's funny, because just hours ago before I saw this thread I was on Amazon looking at Rumi books :).

Coleman Barks' translations are among my favorites. Meticulously researched by a whole team of workers. If you ever get a chance to see the Rumi Concerts with Zuleikha, Coleman, Glen Velez, David Darling and others you won't be disappointed.

Coleman Barks is one of my top favorite translators of Rumi, also.
Just as an aside, one of my many other favorite Poets is Hafiz. :)

Thanks fellow Rumi fans, Madrigal and MoonGypsy!

Goes to show how many interests we all share on AT aside from decks :).

MG, if you like Hafiz check out Mirabai, Rabia of Basra and Kabir.

What a convo we'd have if we all got together :D

Mirabai and Kabir have had a major place in my heart for more years
than i can remember. [since the 70's]

And Rabia also sounds familiar..A Sufi Woman Saint-Poet, if i remember correctly?
i will need to look her up in order to jog my dusty memory...
i may have something of hers...

If i started making a list of all the other spiritual/mystical heart poets that i love...

The list would be quite endless, i think...;)

Yes, Rabia is a Sufi women poet. Her work is hard to find though.
