This looks wonderful.
What kind of paper will it be printed on?
(Been hoping for one of these printed on actual thick paper for a long time)

Paper used

Bonjour, Hello,

I will use same type of paper and finition as Burdel and Heri: 380/400gr paper with satined finition, square corners as usual.

It appears to be very good for use and long lasting.

Cordially,

Yves

Bateleur JP PAYEN 1713 restauration

Here is another small picture of my next project
I like Le Bateleur. An interesting facial expression he has. It seems he think something like “what a stupid fool is coming here” :)

Just to clarify, is this a lightly restored facsimile as opposed to a straight facsimile or reproduction?

Restitution

Just to clarify, is this a lightly restored facsimile as opposed to a straight facsimile or reproduction?

Hello DeTox and all,

This won't be a facsimile and not a lightly facsimile.
Nor a restoration.

Originals are not enough in good sake for various reasons:

Some originals are awfull regarding colours
Some originals are awfull regarding black lines design.
Some original are uncomplete.

This is why we worked on many originals and even on various TdM Type I as to fix all colours, black lines design.

So, I prefer to call it a restitution that I/We estimate as faithfull as possible to original idea of engraver and cardmaker.

Wilfried and I we spent months to check every little detail of each card.
Our big tarot database was also used to check minor points.

You will understand for exemple what is difference with Jean Payen 1743 who was another member of this long lignage of cardmakers's family in Avignon/Provence Region.

This restitution was not possible until 2016 because we needed enough documentation.

Now it's time to show this great historical tarot.

Open to passionates by end November maximum.

Cordially,

Yves
