Is there a way to give away e-books?

The Happy Squirrel

I am not sure....

There are some e-books I would love to pass on to others as I found after buying them that they are not for me after all.

Legally? Generally not. Typically, you're not purchasing the book, you're licensing it, and most publishers are holding fast to the idea that only the original purchaser is entitled to download and read the book. As such, most ebook files have some sort of DRM on them that locks them to an account or device. There are ways around that, but the tools to do so are illegal to use in most countries, including the US, UK, and if I recall correctly, Australia & NZ.

Additionally, some Kindle books can be loaned out once (the majority cannot); details on those that can are typically listed on the book's Kindle page on Amazon's site.
