Water damage decks

Awkward.turtle91

What do you guys do when your tarot decks have become water damaged?

My wheel of the year deck has become water damaged just as I was thinking about selling it then choose not to.

I don't even know how it's managed to get wet. :(

Do you think this is a sign I shouldn't have kept the deck? X

Oh what a shame.

I'd throw it away and buy a new one!
Or I might keep the damaged one to use in Tarot craft projects...

There's not much you can do about water damage I'd imagine.
And no - I don't think it's a sign that you shouldn't have kept it.
Such things do just happen imo.

It was just odd how it happened.
It is a shame when they get water damaged, that'll teach me to not put it back in the case :).

I'm looking in to getting the Mary El next.
I need a new summer deck though that's vibrant and bright.

You could keep it and just use it as your timing deck. It's got some interesting material in the LWB with regard to time. That way you wouldn't be shuffling it all the time. You could just draw a card from a fan for timing questions.

I like that idea grizabella, that's quite a good idea actually. It is called the wheel of the year. So it'd be well suited for timing I think.

I'll have to have a proper look at the little white book.

:)
You could use it for Tarot spells and Talismans... or as Altar props...
You could make a Tarot mobile above your bed...
You could use it in a "wish tree" - a kind of poster that affirms your aspirations...

I like the tarot mobile :D that's a unique idea.
I wouldn't know how to use it as talismans.

I don't tend to mess around with spells.

do u have a dehumidifier
I'd spread them out overnight with one on, they will be a little rough but you can flatten them out by putting heavy books or a flower press on top

Please don't throw it away! All the suggestions are excellent - I was thinking of something called "magician's powder". Supposed to help in the unsticking of cards. Not to sound sentimental but maybe this deck needs you...?

Sadly I don't have a dehumidifier, I don't have anything like that. I may try and leave them in the sun slight mind you.
