I'm doing it a bit differently; I pulled the Hermit out of Royo's Black deck, the Universal Fantasy, and my RWS. Nothing is exactly the same with these three Hermits, but the underlaying theme seems to be of self-patience and self-knowledge. With sexuality it probably is knowing yourself and your wants before expecting others to know and understand them.
SYMBOLS:
Sexual Behavior of a Hermit:
I'm weird and also a Virgo as is the Hermit, but for me this card is about intellent sex. This isn't the games that most people play or what we think of when we first start down the path of sexual discovery. For me it has always been that of starting with the mind and opening up possiblities of what could happen when you use your own self-knowledge and willingness to light the "path" for your partner for a more enjoyable experience. The Hermit in all his robes hides a very sexual lover, one who has done more homework (or field work according to FireMaiden) both hands on and off then any other card. Why? you ask. Because he is about learning and knowledge.
Again this is only MY opinion, and my choice to study three different Hermits is truthfully because I never took the time to consider sexuality and tarot together. Besides I already said I'm a Virgo which is probably why it has that slighly lecturing tone to it.
SYMBOLS:
The "Light" is that of discovery. The first time we do or try something. We know as soon as we do it if we want to try again. The light is that of the moment of fulfillment, of climax. Mind you this doesn't have to mean phyiscally. The dawning realization of what this discovery is to each of us.
The "Staff" (actually a sword in the Black) the need, want, and desire to experience or to do. The firmness of a man, while most link this specifically to a penis, but it isn't a physical symbolism for me. It is more of that internal drive or need. Yet it seems to be crutch for some; like that of Vigra. A "fake" penis, or drive even. The want being there but not the desire or ability to.
The "Darkness" is of course the unknown and what hasn't been lit before us or experience by us for us to know for sure. The things that seem to be a bit on the more unusal side, that dark corner in our minds that we never or rarely acknowledge due to the fact it scares us and our thoughts of what "normal" behavior is.
The "Bowed Head" is it to look down or to be submissive is some way. While the Hermit is capable his (she in the Black) is still actually learning. The looking down is that a flat rejection of sex and anything sexual? There is prudishness linked with this card simply because of the Virgo aspect to it. It is here in the bowed head that you see it the most. The robes is to cover modesty, the bowed head is to shield away from anything that is uncomfortable.

Sexual Behavior of a Hermit:
Strictly speaking there is several ways to read the sexual behavior of this card:
~It could be someone who is just learning and understanding their sexuality and what they have to offer.
~It could be someone that isn't comfortable with their own sexuality and therefore hides IE: the Hermit robes, whether it is their own body image that they have problems with or just with sex in general. Even the bowed head is a sign of hiding.
~This could be someone that is rigid in their thoughts of what is right and wrong or may be frigid
~It is possible of that of self pleasure, the solitude of learning your self literally and that of your bodies needs and wants.
~Also self-presure not for exploration reasons but simply because they can't interact with another on this type of level.
