help- poss ?'s for spirit spread..please

Could anyone please help me brainstorm and think of some potential questions for a spread to ask a spirit/energy thats been in my home for a couple of yrs now. I'm new to Tarot and unsure how to phrase the ???'s and also a little unsure exactly what to ask. I've never felt threatened in anyway, and I'm oh so curious. Thanks in advance for the help

How about asking them if they are there for a particular reason? Perhaps to protect someone/something.

other questions to think of

I guess you could ask the spirits how long they've been there. ... I remember reading there are ways to use the suits and the numbers as references for months, days and number of weeks.

and you could always ask "who are you" ... the Major arcana should be able to give you a general idea to the spirit's personality, or maybe even age.
