Smile hello all

i have quite a different experience.

tarot being my love has not only proved to be a wonderful self development tool , but also a way of knowing and interacting with people.

now i have a network , who know me as a reader and actually have helped me earn and teach tarot...

but i think its a different case for each of us.

Smile yes you are right beginner

it is gaining more and more recognition , but at times , i had to be so rude to people who think it of as a joke or something , but i am positive , that we will have more people believeing it along the path!

my friend has told me one thing , since we give our energy to readings , so we should take something in return , even if it is as token , and that has really-really hepled me take off !

Wow, the last post in this thread was almost a year ago...

I am from India as well, Nagpur to be more precise. I do agree as has been rightly said in this thread, even for small gatherings out here an astronomical sum is charged. Its very commercial out here. Meet ups would definitely do us good, but well till then its AT-time...!!

Maybe someday Tarot would be as popular in India as horoscopes and palmistry are...!

If any one of you ever comes my side, let me know we can possibly meet. Have absolutely no one in real world to share experiences with...!!

Hi. I am from mumbai. I agree organizing venues in India is expensive. But I can offer to have a get-together at my place in mumbai where at least we can talk and discuss Tarot. If anyone interested please let me know, will be happy to organize it.

I thought is was already quite popular in India. It appears to be more popular in India than it is here in the States. A lot of the recent English language articles I've read in the media concerning Tarot were written for Indian media.

I dont think I will quite agree with you.... If your frame of reference is limited specifically to Mumbai, then well you may be right. But other than Mumbai, it is yet to catch on. It is just so very specifically limited to the elite, unlike palmistry or horoscopes which I mentioned. Not many here are even aware what Tarot is...!! Hence, therefore what I mentioned somewhere here on AT, people In India don't look like you have committed some blasphemous act when you are spotted holding Tarot books in a bookstore....

That aside, I actually dont even get good books to visualise in a decent bookstore out here at Nagpur. The case might be different in Mumbai though. That aside I usually end up buying books online therefore. The chances of getting a book online are much brighter..!! That aside, prior to buying a RWS, I could not even spot a decent deck...something that could actually appeal...!!

When I had in the past contacted a lady teacher (I wanted to learn Tarot since long), she refused to teach me..says I only teach girls (was actually shocked to hear that) ...However looking back today I dont think I need to elaborate why she must have said that back then.!!! You can get to the conclusion yourself as well. But if this is the attitude to Tarot, I dont think we can actually say that the study of Tarot in India is much developed..!! It still has a long way to go..!!!!
