Book of Thoth Etteilla (LoS)

I've just received this lovely deck- and it has come with 3 extra greyscale versions of the coloured cards La Nuit, Fortune, Appui. It doesn't say why. Due to the confusion with Crowley Thoth I'm not getting any answers from Google either!

Are they grey to show they are artistic completions of these cards?

I have that deck, too, and it came originally only with these three misprints. LoS gave us the opportunity to write to them to get replacements. It seems they now pack these misprints together with the deck. They have no function; I kept them because I make art projects with tarot cards from time to time, but there is no other reason to keep them.

We had a discussion of this issue here on AT some time ago.

Aha! So that's a deck (also called "Le Grand Jeu de l'Oracle des Dames"), where The Deck of the Bastard (by Seven Stars) gets some of it's imagery.
