Dragon Tarot -- Strength VIII

Kosjitov

Dragon Tarot by Peter Pracownik

From the Little White Book:
VIII STRENGTH - A Lion and a Dragon play in the sky together, showing that real strength is exhibited through cooperation, and not through fighting. Between them we see a caduceus, showing that as a man stands upright, he appears to be balanced without effort; yet the interplay between muscle and tendon is continuous to matain him in that position. The caduceus, a symbol of all living processes, shows us serpent entwined with serpent with perfect symmetry between them. Thus all opposites are to be balanced, for in balance we achieve a true unity.

Divinatory Meaning - Intention is cause. Energy follows thought. Power without control is nothing.
Reverse Meaning - Too emotional. Not thinking things through.

A lion and a drake, playing in the sky. Have you ever seen such a thing? The drake is an earthy green, but unlike other cards, its wings have a reddish tinge to them, and it wears a red gem on its forehead. Symbols of power overflow in this card- dragon, lion, sun, caduceus. The caduceus being quite possibly the most important symbol there, for while it is the symbol of the medical community, it infers power over life and death itself. The card motions to emotional, spiritual, and physical strength (sound health, ect). This card sports two glyphs for Leo.

Revisited

Caduceus - Shows that as a wo/man stands upright, they appear to be balanced without effort; Yet the interplay between muscle and tendon is continuous to maintain them in that position. The caduceus, a symbol of all living processes, shows us serpent entwined with serpent (dark/female light/male) with perfect infinite symmetry between them. Thus all opposites are balanced, for in balance we achieve a true unity. The caduceus is four loops created by two (2x4=8) snakes “male/female or yin and Yang”.

Cheth - means fence or enclosure. “Blue Cheth” When envisioned in your mind, it represents protection of family, loved ones, home, yourself, or even when driving.

Triple Name

Vis Divina - Divine Force - Mental Plane
Vis Humana - Human Force - Astral Plane
Vis Naturalis - Natural Force - Physical Plane

Poppies - The poppies shown are going back to the 7th Arcanum where Demeter mourns the loss of Persephone to her husband Hades in the underworld every winter. The deal made with death, Persephone returns each spring. So until then; she brews poppy tea to sleep until that day comes. Drooped buds of the poppy represent dreams/pregnancy until they open and stand upright. Honest masters know enlightenment is induced from within and through a connection with the infinite. Dependence upon external substances/influences to lift the veils of illusion is considered a lazy approach to enlightenment (red for emotion, bloom at the fall equinox).

There are “4” Oak Trees and “5” open Poppies “= 9“ and “7“ un-opened Poppies: unopened all face west or back to prior Arcanum?

Grass and Stars - Grass is the microcosm and also pure and fertile ground. Stars are the macrocosm pure and fertile spirit.

Oak Trees - The oak's status was (and still is) undeniable. Further merit to its regal presence is its tendency to attract lightning. This was considered hugely powerful among the ancients and is associated with one of their foremost gods, Dagda. Its attraction for lightning, its size and longevity (oaks are known to easily surpass 200 years of age) all make the oak a powerful, life-affirming symbol. The oak is a living legend representing all that is true, wholesome, stable, and noble. When you are in need of stability and strength in your life - envision the oak in your minds eye. Picture yourself drawing into its endless energy waves. Soon, you will find yourself sharing in its power. There is a reason the oak is considered the king of green realm. The oak is generous with its gifts - just as any good ruler shares its bounty amongst the kingdom.

The Card

The Sun and the Moon combined represent yet another show of balance. Darkness and light, Male and female, but here the moon being dominant represents this as a feminine aspect card. Without the male aspect you have no balance. You also see a Lion and a Dragon playing in the sky together, showing that real strength is exhibited through cooperation, and not through fighting. The Lion (male) and the Dragon (female).
