The Chariot

So this might be better off in Talking Tarot or even Tarot Deck Creation, and if it is, I'll move it (if I can work out how to! :/).

I'm creating my own tarot deck, and have been working through them (I'm not ready to show pictures, I'm wanting to get the major arcana done and dusted before I show more than a couple of people...). I've made it to the Chariot, and had a flash of inspiration while eating my lunch. I also looked on google for different examples of The Chariot, and either I'm not good at using google, or for tarot cards, it's REALLY hard to use.

What I wanted to know, though, is what have been your favourite portrayals of the Chariot, which have been your least favourite, and why this has been the case for both. I'm in a nosy mood today it seems!

If you do an image search with the words "the chariot" in quotes, like that, and the word tarot, you get plenty of good images.

I have a preference for depictions of the Chariot that actually have a chariot of some sort in them.

To my mind, riding an animal is not on a par with driving a chariot.

As with every card, there are many interpretations, and everyone will respond differently.

I just adore this one. The imagery is all wrong, because the Chariot is about power and ambition, and this imagery is about romance, but I still just love it.

Hannahfate, I agree, I am not as keen on the ones which don't have an actual chariot, and that first one? What's going on there?!

My design is definately going to have a chariot, and if I can find good models and photos, I hope it'll turn out well.

Canid, I had tried that, but I ended up getting confused, because loads of them weren't actually The Chariot card! No idea what goes on with me and google, I'm just not liked by it!

Make sure you add in "Tarot" with "The Chariot" when searching ("The Chariot" + Tarot) otherwise you'll get some odd images from movies, books, etc.

Oh wow, that's stunning!

Is the deck going to be published, I'd consider getting that one if I had the money!

My design is all written down and completed, and once I've got all the other major arcana done, I'll draw and paint them all, and show a few of the majors to people. I'm loving this project, and I'm really glad I decided to go for it.
