Law of Attraction - Lack

G6

I have problems with the Law of Attraction and this idea of lack. Seems it's about if you are positive good things will happen and if you are negative bad things will happen. This doesn't resonate with me because I've known horrible people that have all the trappings of "the good life" and I've met really good positive people that are broke.

Here's an excerpt from this book called "Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting". Seems to advocate the same belief that if you radiate positivity everything you want will come to you.

I think positivity has value; I just don't think it's a magic wand or the sole reason people have or don't have what they want in life.

Who believes this? Who doesn't believe this? Why?

Thnx,

G6

I believe that ONLY thinking positive will NOT be enough.

First of all you need to act, not only to think. To make things better, many times will take some time. There is no magical solution that will solve everything right on the place. So if for example a person made a big mistake he'll have to do something to fix it or at least to belittle the damage as much as possible. Thinking positive may improve his chances. But still he'll have to sweat.

Second, what you see , is only the present moment, it can be about receiving or making karma points. Plus or minus. It can be a person that was terrible in his previous life or even a few years ago and now his karma gets him. Same with bad people who could be living angels in their previous life and now get good karma(but also making new minus points).

So it's quite complicated at my opinion.

*I didn't open the link but I don't believe in message that positive thinking will bring you the paradise.

I absolutely don't believe in the Law of Attraction. Not even a teeny bit.

I think positivity is good for you. That's as far as I go.

This. I have seen the law of attraction make powerful positive changes in my life, sometimes in breathtakingly short periods of time. But I have things in my life that aren't the greatest and that I can't change, no matter how positively I think about them.

You have to do the steps, not just think positively, but pay attention to what the Universe is sending to you and be ready and willing to be focused, committed and energetic in taking advantage of what comes along.

As with creating furniture or art or music, creating your optimal life is a process that begins with a thought, but that has to be driven by action, or it just remains as a fantasy in your head. IMO, that's where a great many books and teachings fail. They act as though all you have to do is think it and it will just magically come to you. Everything that we create starts with a thought, but it can't just end with a thought, it has to progress into actions.

Also it might not happen that moment. As I said, sometimes it's fast, sometimes it is agonizingly slow. If it matters to you, you can't give up--unless it's something that you know you cannot change.

For example, when I first visited the area where I now live, I knew within the first 24 hours that I wanted to move here. It took 17 years before I was able to do so, and it wasn't easy! But I never stopped affirming, with gratitude, that I lived here, and I never lost the drive and the will to make it here. I made my affirmation and then did all that I could over the years to make it happen, knowing that if it didn't happen, it wasn't because I didn't try for it. And now here I am and I love it.

But I have a chronic debilitating physical problem that arises in my DNA. I can change how I think about it, but I will literally never be able to "think it away." The law of attraction doesn't work for everything. IMO we have all made choices about our life path issues and lessons, and some of them need to stay in place for our higher learning.

I totally believe in the Laws of Attraction- Like attracts like. The things you pull to yourself and your world all depends on what vibrational note you are standing on though. You can say all the positive things you want but if your core isn't positive, you will not attract positives to you no matter what. The key and tricky part is to figure out how to get yourself on the correct "note."

I think it all starts with core beliefs and how you've been programmed. I grew up in an extremely negative and depressive atmosphere due to one of my parents. It took me years to undo the damage that had me believing that I didn't deserve good things. Once one can do that and then begin to reprogram themselves, life will change up considerably. But that's just MY experience. It may or may not work for you but I think it's worth looking into.

Best of luck..

I do believe that positivity will attract more positivity; however, positivity is not the same thing as success, or even happiness. I think of it more as being about hope: When you choose to see the good in an otherwise hard life, that's being positive, and in so doing you also acknowledge that more good is yet to come; you know this because there's already plenty right here, right now, if you look for it. Positivity is a candle that doesn't dispel the darkness, but gives you a little extra light by which to navigate it--and it's a promise that you can always light that candle whenever you want.

So to me, being positive isn't about attracting good things, and I don't think positivity is even capable of that. As you point out, plenty of positive people are suffering and plenty of negative people are living it up. However, it can make your world a little brighter, and hopefully enable you to help light other people's candles. In return, they light yours again, and it keeps going round. In that way, I do think that being positive will attract both a more positive (or accepting, even if not happy) outlook and more positive people.

That is a really beautiful explanation. <3

Seems you are in agreement a bit with Falcor that there are certain aspects of our lives that are fixed perhaps because of actions in our past lives or just constraints we decided to work with in this lifetime.

Seems most agree the law of attraction works in tandem with action whether it's direct action like applying for jobs or more of what you are talking about, which is self work that needs to be done. Can you talk more about self work or reprogramming actions?

Yes, most certainly.
