Should I visit New York? Part A

olivia1

Can you all help me with this? I'm planning to go visit a man I've been speaking to. Clear on the other side of the country. He's my close college friend's younger brother. I'm pretty nervous since I'm not sure how it'll go. Plus I hate traveling long distances. I've never met him. I refused to see him when he was in town but we made up and now talk constantly.

I asked what will become of our relationship and got:
Deck: blue owl
Fox / dog/ tower

fox usually signifies work for me. In this situation I'm not so sure if it refers to work... I think fox +dog could mean we'd actually just keep it casual. Fox could mean we'd either hide the relationship from others or we'd pretend to care more for the other than we really do. Or maybe we'd lie to ourselves and convince each other that we're just friends. Or the dog could be referring to his sister and my close college friend who we both know. Tower could mean we'd see how things develop but he lives in New York City so I'm not sure if the cards are saying we'd keep secretly meeting up in New York or if we'd both take a wait and see approach?

If someone could help me with this, I'd be ternellay grateful.

Hi olivia1,

You are not adhering to your context. The Fox is not about work here because you did not ask about work, you asked only about how the relationship will progress, so these cards are only talking about that. The Fox is saying that there will be a tricky or sneaky thing to happen in the relationship, leading to a distance or isolation (Dog + Tower = taking space from the relationship, isolation and distance from that friend/partner). The Fox is a negative card here. You must must must stick to your context always. If you ask about love and you get the Ship, the Ship is not talking about your car or a trip you will take because you did not ask about those things, unless you asked about finding love while on a trip, then the Ship may be the trip. But that's only because the trip became a part of the context of your question. That's just an example.

Thanks for your help. Is the lenornand not fluid? I always assumed that it was because in the last, I have asked about things that had nothing to even do with work or business but whenever the fox came about, it always somehow involved business or work. For example, I asked once how a date would go and fox came up and the guy ended up being a hotel guest where I worked. If the fox is indicating a negative omen, I may just pass on this. I have more attractive ways to spend A weekend. Plus I'm afraid of airplanes anyway thanks again

In a situation like this with the Dog describing the Fox, I would read Fox to mean someone who is very private and family oriented who will make a loyal friend. Foxes are survivors and they survive via their cunning, but that doesn't mean that is all they are. The tower indicates someone who is very private. It could also be indicating the fact that the two of you are very distant in terms of residences.

Thanks ruby. In lenormand, the card to the right describes the card to its left/ before it? I think someone said that to me before but I forgot until you reminded me. Thank you for that. Actually, we are both very private. Him especially so since he slipped up last time and I accused him of lacking discretion. That was a big reason as to why I refused to meet him when he was in town. Maybe he's not so bad after all. I do enjoy him thus far. Thanks again

Your welcome Olivia. I'm not so sure it answered the question as to what will become of your relationship, but that does not surprise me because imo, the cards leave your life in your hands....iow, it is your decision, but they gave you the information you need in order to help you make that decision. I personally find 3 cards do not give me enough information, so I usually add 2 more cards and make it 5 cards...which give a much more complete picture of the situation.

Thanks. You're so helpful In the 5 card draw, I read it as every card to the left is clarified by the card to the right? So for example if I pull stork/star/man/ child/ dog

Then dog clarifies child which clarifies man ?

It will. E so interesting to see if this loyalty extends to me. Awhile back I said that anytime I draw fox, something regarded to work or business pops up. Of course this could be a coincidence but my trip was postponed due to my manager forgetting he approved my time off and scheduling me. I could make a fuss about it but I don't want to be a problematic employee.
