Spirituality in a prayer... through a flute...

linnie

There are been so many wonderful and insightful threads in the Beyond Tarot section of AT, but before we possibly lose touch with most people I wanted to mention Native American style flutes to all the good souls here at AT.

Over the years, through reading posts and sharing conversations, its occurred to me that here at AT, like most other places, it is an easy thing to find people literally screaming out for 'something' in their lives. The tarot study and guidance offers many people just what they need, and yet leaves some yearning for more. I know that was true for me :)

I don't want to preach to anyone, i promise... I just love this instrument so much that I hope others will find a way to connect with the Native American Flute, too. Truly, if your soul yearns for a way to express yourself without words, to share with others, and to simply find calm in this life, please consider adopting a native american flute.

The cheaper entry level of these flutes is as inexpensive to buy as a couple of regular tarot decks at the lower end of prices. A Native American flute is easy to find (especially in the US), easy to play (said to be easier than a recorder!), and, if you find it to your liking, will become a constant companion that brings not only you but those within ear shot a genuine feeling of calm...

This isn't me being a salesperson.. i'm keeping my own flutes for me and for those around me, but some of you know how passionate I am about the Native American Flute and I'm hoping to share my enthusiasm with others while i still can.

For me, the purchase of my first flute was life-changing... I promise I'm not selling on behalf of myself or anyone else, i just want people who might need such a thing in their life to find it. A scan of the internet will point you to Kuzin Bruce, or Hawk Henries, or many other truly beautiful and gifted souls who make flutes...

I hope some of you wander along that path with me... even if you're across the other side of the world :) Just knowing some people will know the bliss of playing the NAF will keep my face smiling:D

Many blessings to you all...

I have thought of getting a singing bowl or crystal bowl but something has always pulled me back, especially since listening to some singing bowl cds gives me a headache. And drums are unsettling to be at times. But now that you have mentioned Native American flutes that just feels really right and everytime I hear one, it feels like my spirit soars and feel light. Thank so much for the suggestion, Linnie!

I feel you are biased in this area dear Linnie, not all of us have caves nearby to use the flute in! But I have always loved your musical posts and about your Fluting!

I will look at cheap Flutes in future. I bought a singing bowl some years ago Glass Owl and it just gathers dust. I wish I used it more!

I just wanted to say Linnie, that very early on at AT, I bought your oracle and was so impressed with it I got you to make me a personalised Mandala! For some years I lost the beautiful Mandala safe in it's large envelope that came all the way from Australia and I was so embarrassed to say anything. But last year I randomly found it, it was under my bed for some reason! Totally random and unexpected and I have it safe again. I must read your intuitive notes on it again but I do feel it fits me and it was so colourful :)

your oracle (which I feel I recommended to every person who ever wanted an oracle reading about their spirituality on AT) and Mandala have greatly helped my spirituality! thank you

thank you

danieljuk and Glass Owl, thank you for replying to my thread at such a busy time...
I wanted to mention it because the nAF has filled a hole that not even i realised was there...
it is the EASIEST instrument on the planet to play, yet people fall in love with it...
Do find one, if you can... I'd recommend Kuzin Bruce (just google him) for a very well tuned (so say people who buy everyone's flute, to the most expensive)but his are very affordable, especially for what can be truly life changing...

Daniel, thank you... for always passing along the name of my deck, and for trusting me to draw your mandala.. I never know what will arise for people, but I knew that whatever came, yours would be beautiful, and with many layers :) I'm glad you found it!!

 to you both... see you at Cartomancy, Tarotsphere, or wherever the wind blows us..

Flaxen

This is such an inspiring post, Linnie. I've been looking for an instrument which is easy to learn to support me in my shamanic path. This could fit the bill.

Please will you post some more over at Cartomancy? It would be good to have a fellow journeying soul to share with.

linnie

I'd love to do that, Flaxen... :) Will see you over there. Thank you for suggesting it... I'll just post something like "My life with the NA Flute" in Spirituality section now, and then I'll get back to it and offer whatever I know of this beautiful instrument... Thank you :) And hugs!!!
