I just started researching this; maybe others have that could offer some imput? I'm just curious because I think many of Jesus' miracles involved spells or rituals - turning that water into wine & how he did it, spitting on mud to heal the blind man, etc. Perhaps(?!) a lot has been discarded from the Bible currently in use; I do have the Nag Hammadi but unfortunately there's no concordance that I know of. I know these 'miracles/rituals' have been discussed but I can't find any references to moon cycles, or any other astrological cycles, except the Wise Men story. I wonder how many people have been burned by following these same edicts.
Just some things I've found so far: (If I'm wrong about any of this, please let me know!) I realize we use a different calendar than they did so it's pretty confusing to me.
Passover is during the full moon, the Easter Moon, or Paschal Moon & supposedly Jesus was crucified on the day following the Passover. Ritualistic? Since the 'Lord' smote the Egyptians during a full moon, it gave the 'chosen people' plenty of light to escape with. I'm not opposed to the possibility that other beings were involved here, maybe with a bit more technology for the time.
The miraculous darkness following the crucifixion could have been a solar eclipse, but they only last 8 minutes, not 3 hours of darkness. Still, who wrote or possibly changed that part?
And what's up with the red moon in revelation? And I particularly like the woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. Hmm...did someone perhaps combine a couple of tarot cards from this?
Psalms - Blow the ram's horn on the full moon...etc.
I've done a lot of research on references to 'witchcraft' & have a list of scriptures (which I've posted here in the past) that are PRO-divination, but I'm just totally perplexed as to how it's been lost to current 'christianity', at least in the west. Anybody? Input? Ideas?
