Hi everyone!

Limbo here, I'm designing a new deck of Tarot about "dark fairy tales", the link below are the sketches I made for Major Arcanas, only 3 left to finish all 22 of them, and the Minors will come right after them!
My goal is to finish a full deck in both refined line works and color sets, and create 3D models for each of them, and trust me this project will be at least awesome!

I love the style you have going there. It avoids the two extremes I tend to dislike (overly cartoony or poorly drawn cartoony, and photo-realistic). Your illustrations are "cartoons" in a sense, yet they still have gravitas (and it doesn't feel forced either). Plus, I just really like your character designs.

Also, I enjoy how full every card is. I don't tend to like decks that are too "busy", preferring more under-stated decks, and yet I would rush out and buy your deck. I think it has to do with each card having a unified design and flow (rather than just being a pile of stuff like some decks), and the parts having a certain "chunkiness" that I like.

And, of course, I'm a sucker for a good dark deck. Not enough of those, I say, and yours evokes the right vibes for me.

After all that praise though, I do need to ask, why is the card the "Lover" rather than the "Lovers"? It seems like the biggest divergence from the symbolic tradition I see in your deck so far, and the only thing that slightly concerns me. I'd love to hear your reasoning behind it.

Hi Ceildric

First, thanks for the time you spent to explore my deck, and the really helpful advices.
I think before I answer the question, I would like to say you are the best audience that I'm expecting! Personally intention, I planned to make this deck not only a deck of Tarot card, but also a collection of my personal art works. Although each of the cards are crowded with tons of visual information, I hope people would like to spend some time to browse around my card, to find out the small stories behind each of the cards. I understand some of them are lack of focal point, and this is why I set each of the cards into the same type of character(the ball joint doll), and have their body parts be the guide of your eyes.
As I explained this deck was originated and inspired from Rider-Waite's deck which I believe has always been the most classical and popular one. The reason why I chose dark fantasy style and cartoonish is because compare with realistic, they have more visual impact. I understand the current pieces are not very finish-looking, and have more ways to go, and I will definitely put more effort on them, keep updating and rework.
The Lovers in this deck was one of my most struggled card, because there are rarely more than one character design in this deck, I tended to keep this one too, it was a kind of obsession I guess, but either way that piece should be rework somehow.
Some update about this deck: Only 3 pieces plus The Lover(s) left! And hopefully I can start Kickstarter campaign by the end of this month! Thanks for the attention and support you guys gave me, and thank you Ceildric for giving me a chance to speak out before my campaign start, you are really one of my favorite audience!
