How to Find a Good Reader

Sassarella

Hello,

I'm itching to get a good in-person reading from someone talented that is local to me.

How do you find a reader/psychic that you like or feel is talented?

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

You might want to go around new-age shops and see if they have an in-house reader or know of local readers they can recommend.

You might want to ask your friends or colleagues if they've had readings done, and would they recommend the person.

Readers are quite different in their style and how they work. You can be recommended a reader by a friend who says this person is the best reader ever and then you don't get on with them at all. There has to be a connection between both sides!

It's worth thinking about what you want from your reader or in a reader. Do you have a special area you want to ask about? Some specialise in love readings or career. I know one reader I use who only does questions about advice where she provides a solution, it has to be an advice question. What sort of style or personality do you like, someone very spiritual? someone more psychological? someone sensitive? someone to the point?

obviously many readers combine many of those areas but different readers have different special skills and you can then find them in your local area.

You can search your area on google to find some, or look on social networks. get recommendations from your friends. my area has psychic fairs many times a year with about 20 readers! there is local tarot associations who you can find a reader from. or new age shops like Nisaba recommended.

But take some time to find someone who fits what you want and you will get a much better reading!

I second the new-age shops. If the owner has employed in-house readers, those readers will most likely have been screened and the poor ones weeded out. Also, most shops I've been in have a bulletin board where people offering services post their cards or flyers.

Even though you want a face to face reading, I would suggest asking if the person you are thinking of seeing also does email and/or phone readings. That will eliminate cold readers.

I guess the criterion is the reputation and by word of mouth.
But if you live in a little city, probably your choice will be very limited.

Personally I am not a great fan of face to face reading. The internet is a tool very useful for me and a reading by email could be natural.
Actually and because I am interested in divination and cards myself I don't ask professional readings. However this year I asked a reading, but to an astrologer who is as well my teacher (by email because he lives abroad).

If I had to choose a fortune-teller probably I will choose a talented one among the forum; when emotions are too much we can't read the cards for oneself.

I took your advice and asked for a reading from an in-house reader at one of my favorite new-age shops. It was the best in-person reading I've had in a very long time!!! Thanks!

That's interesting that you bring up the point of keeping emotions out of the picture. I never thought about the fact that a reading online may be more accurate due to the fact that I'm not putting my emotions on the reader, since they're not with me. Very interesting take!

Now that I met a great one in person a few weeks ago, I got his contact info so that I can do email or phone when I'd like. I'd be more open minded about trying one out without meeting them in person, too, just to see...thanks!

Hi, I misspoke maybe; what I would like to say is that emotions can be a problem when we do a reading for oneself.
