PCRC #2 ~ AnemoneRosie & firecatpickles

AnemoneRosie

Hello!
I was wondering whether or not you had a particular spread in mind for me to use? Or a particular focus?

As for me, my focus is on looking ahead to September (school starts September 6th!) and if there's anything that I should be aware of or that I need to know?

firecatpickles

I'll have the same question, about school (already in attendance) and a big test at the end of October.

Any spread you're comfortable with is fine. I'm fond of the Hedgewytchery "Horns" spread unless you have another one you'd like me to try.

5:club: is the card of determination. This one came just before the Significator I chose for you, Q:heart:. This is the number one factor in your approach or attitude to the situation. You have made up your mind already about school and will make the most of it.

The presence of all red cards (except for one) indicates that this is going to be a good experience for you. The K:heart:, "The Red Lord", may be an aspect of your own personality, but also it's a reflection of a teacher in particular. He will be a nurturing type and will genuinely be concerned with student performance. That being said, as "lord" of his manor (the classroom), he will also have higher expectations than some other teachers and will be stricter in his approach to teaching. "firm but fair" is what come to mind with this person. (This may be a female, because we are only talking a personality type or teaching-style, not necessarily a gender alone.)

One of the things I struggle with the Hedgewytchery system is its narrow interpretation of the face cards. For instance, you got J:spade:, which is usually an adolescent, or younger type person, who is cynical and/or pessimistic, and typical of this age group. This does not refer to you, but to the others in your class. I would be careful at taking the instructor's demeanor directed at you and instead at noticing he that he is addressing more the others in the class, who will probably be within this age group. He will have to be this way in order to get the results he wants in terms of class participation. So, don't take it personally.

10:heart: is the happiness card. It seems that this is a positive card no matter what system we use. It's a good card to have here. In contrast to the J:spade:, it means you will be the teacher's pet in some respect, not because he singles you out for a student to be preferred but because you will be in a different demographic than the rest of the class (contrasting the K:heart: and J:spade:, again). It will be enjoyable for him/her to have students than are not all of the same persuasion or age group.

A:diamond: is a bit confusing. This is a letter about money (student loans or a scholarship) that you will receive in time, if you haven't already recently. Financial aid tends to come in at the last minute, though. It isn't a tremendous amount of money (moving on to the 2:diamond: here) but it will be enough to subsist on and ensure your seat in the class. It may also seem like enough to begin with, but unfortunately, I'm afraid, will run out fast. The advice here is to watch your spending, especially since you have the 2:diamond: appear as the last card in the spread. There may be some unexpected expenses you haven't taken into account, such as books (again, A:diamond:), lab fees, travel expenses, etc.

I hope this helps. I know it's short notice to expect feedback right away. If you get to it that's fine, if not just give feedback whenever you can, that's fine.

AnemoneRosie

Thanks so much! Your reading is coming today (same thing about providing feedback) as well :)

I'll have the same question, about school (already in attendance) and a big test at the end of October.

Any spread you're comfortable with is fine. I'm fond of the Hedgewytchery "Horns" spread unless you have another one you'd like me to try.

I went with a Saturn square because, hey, why not? I changed the positions to better reflect your situation.

Horizontal Rows:
1. Inner Circle (those directly around you): You've got the emotional support of those around you. However, while it's strong, it's certainly not enough to keep you going. While important, it's not all that you need. You also need to surround yourself with people who are equally passionate about what you're doing and, while you've some of that, it doesn't seem to be enough right now. Your enthusiasm is being drained and can't quite be replenished fast enough.
2. You: You're caught in a cycle of starting again, completing, and starting over, and you're finding this to be a bit of a drain on your resources. While you have the support that you need in order to keep going you still sometimes have some doubts.
3. Outer Circle (environment that surrounds you all): While the school is, on the whole, supportive and caring and wants you to do well it rarely feels that way. Sometimes it feels like banging your head on a wall, and other times it feels combative. Your challenge is to tap in to those supportive elements that you have access to, be it a particular teacher or service, or a drop-in, whatever it takes. They will help to provide guidance through the more challenging elements.

Vertical Columns:
1. Future: The big test in October sees you working really hard. This is a time for you to really take care to be disciplined and to work hard. Something that may help is to have a big list of motivations to keep going so that you don't burn out. The risk is that you will have to re-do some previous work. Try not to see this as a huge setback as much as it is an opportunity to learn, to not repeat past errors, and to move forward.
2. Present: Right now you're feeling energized. Yet you've got a nagging doubt that you're in over your head, or that it's too much. While fighting the thought risks making it grow, you don't want for it to grow! Instead, you're aiming to work really hard to prove it wrong. That's the spirit!
3. Outcome: Hard work pays off and you will have the opportunity to celebrate it. However, there may be some lingering tension from the fight, so take care to really look after yourself, too. Moderation is important in all things, including celebration!

Direct Influences:
Left-Right: Your direct influences are that you speak from the heart and care deeply about what's going on. You're rather trapped in the cyclical nature of school and, while you're working to mitigate that, it's a lot larger than you are and so you're just along for the ride. You're encouraged to not try to change what you cannot change, and instead to just go along for the ride, working to do the best that you can along the way.

Indirect Influences:
Right-Left: There are some battles that you'll need to fight, and so you're encouraged to choose them wisely. After all, you don't have the resources for all! Take care to look after yourself since, for all that others say that they will, they cannot be as reliable for you as you can be for you.

Overal message:
The 10 :diamond: is central to you. It's a card of success and completion, indicating that your school term will indeed go well which, as is the nature of tens, will bring you to the next and you'll start all over again. The reds show that you will do quite well on the whole, yet the black reminds you that it isn't entirely smooth sailing. There will still be a rough patch that you'll have to work extra hard on. You can't just rest on your laurels and expect that to work. Working hard will bring in equally great results.
It seems that you're feeling a bit burnt out on the whole thing, and are relying on others to keep you going. Is it possible for you to rediscover your spark?

I know that this reading is very future-oriented. If you need to take a month to get feedback back to me (I'm still working on prediction-style readings) then by all means take the time you need!

firecatpickles

I also think it makes sense for us to delay feedback to see how things pan out for both of us!

Though I plan on providing some feedback by the due date...

Feedback #1

I figure that I owe you some feedback. I want to provide another round of it once I meet my professors (the school hasn't even figured out who is teaching what, yet; they have set an internal deadline of Monday night for us to know).

5:club: is the card of determination. This one came just before the Significator I chose for you, Q:heart:. This is the number one factor in your approach or attitude to the situation. You have made up your mind already about school and will make the most of it.

My mind is definitely made up. So much so, in fact, that I may have signed up to do much more work than the bare minimum.

I hope that it's a good experience! I didn't have a whole lot of fun last year.
I'm curious to meet my professors, as the school hasn't yet figured out who they will be! I'll keep you posted :) I like this description, though. I tend to appreciate strictness, or sternness, coupled with fairness. I do well there because I can easily figure out how to act.

Thanks for this warning! I struggle with taking things personally, so I'll try not to. Participation is mandatory in my classes and is taken very seriously so it helps to be able to keep in mind that it's not me, necessarily.

I'm a different demographic because I'm older and have more life experience. However, because of my physical nature (tiny, young-looking) I'm regularly mistaken for being much younger, and lumped into the same demographic as those who have not yet lived through as much. Teachers frequently enjoy when I pull in my life experience, although some also seemingly dislike it. So I hope it goes well for me :)

Hm. I've not yet applied for funds, which would explain the 2:diamond:. I wonder if the 5:diamond: isn't about the fact that I got a raise at one job, a promotion at another, and was also taken on as a reader at another site?

firecatpickles

Thank you for the feedback.

If it's alright I would like to give feedback tomorrow when I have more energy. It was a 50+ hours work week plus school. Ugh.

Also I will give updates as time progresses over the next few months.

I went with a Saturn square because, hey, why not? I changed the positions to better reflect your situation.

Your enthusiasm is being drained and can't quite be replenished fast enough.
It is draining to work overtime every week and attend school, but I have taken steps to surround myself with like-minded people, so you are correct. It's a drag on my emotional resources to *have* to work with those not in fire/ems as a lifestyle. This is the case at my place of full time employment. They just "don't get it".

2. You: You're caught in a cycle of starting again, completing, and starting over, and you're finding this to be a bit of a drain on your resources. While you have the support that you need in order to keep going you still sometimes have some doubts.
I think you're picking up on the sheer length of this course: It runs to February. You can imagine the repetition. Not only that, this is a repeater (refresher) course for me in preparation for the big test in October. It's easy to psyche myself out in this situation, asking myself sometimes if it is all worth it and conversely if I really need to repeat the course to be successful in passing my test.

3. Outer Circle (environment that surrounds you all): While the school is, on the whole, supportive and caring and wants you to do well it rarely feels that way. Sometimes it feels like banging your head on a wall, and other times it feels combative. This seems to refer to my part time job as a driver for an ambulance company. It also taps into what I said above about continually asking myself if it is all worth it. So, it seems like a lot of work with little benefit, at least immediate benefit.

If I don't pass the test I will have to re-do the practical skills test in March. I really don't want to only because it's nerve-racking and I would rather have a root canal done! I will have another chance to redo the same test that is in October, but I think you get 3 tries. Since I am attempting a renewal and not completion of my licensure in October, I will only have one chance. This is a part of the reading I will have to revisit.

2. Present: Right now you're feeling energized. Yet you've got a nagging doubt that you're in over your head, or that it's too much. While fighting the thought risks making it grow, you don't want for it to grow! Instead, you're aiming to work really hard to prove it wrong. That's the spirit!
Once I get my day going (early to work on school nights and the actual class) it's a self-motivator. And I do enjoy the material. It also makes my work week go by really fast.

3. Outcome: Hard work pays off and you will have the opportunity to celebrate it. However, there may be some lingering tension from the fight, so take care to really look after yourself, too. Moderation is important in all things, including celebration!
Another part to revisit pending the results of the big test :)

You're encouraged to not try to change what you cannot change, and instead to just go along for the ride, working to do the best that you can along the way.
I am getting into the routine slowly. As I mentioned, it is a long, drawn-out class. As I get into the groove I hope to enjoy it more. The farther along we go the more practical skills we will practice, and I know I will be into it by then because it involves moving around and not sitting at a stupid desk.

Indirect Influences:
Right-Left: There are some battles that you'll need to fight, and so you're encouraged to choose them wisely. After all, you don't have the resources for all! Take care to look after yourself since, for all that others say that they will, they cannot be as reliable for you as you can be for you.

Yay! So whether the completion is in October or March is still in the air. But funny you mention that I'll be starting all over again. This is true. There are periodic classes I will be taking every other month to retain my license. They will be offered free of charge by the ambulance company I'm driving for (and will be EMT-ing for once I get my license).
The reds show that you will do quite well on the whole, yet the black reminds you that it isn't entirely smooth sailing. There will still be a rough patch that you'll have to work extra hard on. My whole life revolves around the fire department where I volunteer. It helps me recharge and serves as a reminder why I'm doing this. As an example, we had a really bad wreck on the interstate (no one was hurt) where the occupants really should have been killed. We heard the info on the radios and we were expecting the worst. Nevertheless I felt much more prepared having been in class recently, getting training on how to react in these situations.[/quote]

I know that this reading is very future-oriented. If you need to take a month to get feedback back to me (I'm still working on prediction-style readings) then by all means take the time you need!
I definitely plan on giving periodic updates over the next few months, so bookmark this thread :)

Thank you again for the reading; it was very helpful
