Please help - could this be my guide?

Hello all. I've been mulling this over and Googling like mad for over a week but I just can't get my head round this. I don't like to bother you, but I really don't know what to think.

I know that many readers believe that their insights come from spirit, a god, the universe, higher self etc. but I had no idea if I was connecting with anyone/thing.

One night before sleeping, I meditated and asked for some information in my dreams about any connection or guide. I woke up in the early hours saying 'Ararita Jones' over and over again. I had a strong feeling it was signifiant, so I went downstairs and wrote it down, then went back to bed.

Looking it up I can find 'Ararita' as word used in Thelemic ritual and 'Belphegor Ararita Jones' as a demon, (but I didn't write or see/hear the word 'Belphegor') but I can't find any reference to 'Ararita Jones' on its own.

When I speak the words I get a definite tingle, and I've had several dreams/visions since. I'm sure I'm on the right track but I can't see how to place Ararita Jones in a spirit guide context when I don't know what he/she/it is. Could the above references be coincidence and Ararita Jones is someone's name?

Any ideas how I can resolve the confusion? Am I missing something?

get names too sometimes...mostly people's names i don't know...
i googled them and came up with nothing about them except bios...
no obits or accident reports...finally just gave up...
IMO, if you can't find them or don't know them, don't spend time figuring it out...
just happens sometimes...

I see what you mean amethyst57. I've tried to let it go, but I get this awful feeling I'm pushing away something important. It seems ungrateful of me not to take it seriously when it was a direct response to my request. I don't know...

edit to add a bit more - thanks for your link too Carla. It's one that I've seen - and you can imagine how my brain is spinning at the moment!

Hi Karmagoth : )

The fact that you asked a very specific question and had this name running through your head to me is very significant. The visions/dreams you've had since could be clues as to who this person is. Try asking again to dream and be given more information concerning this name. Sometimes it takes awhile to make a connection. You can also ask your guides to send you signs concerning this name and then keep an open mind to what you see/hear. This could also simply be the name this guide wishes to be called.

I've been working with the crystals and my guides/angels/ascended masters as well. I kept seeing the name Max and it was driving me absolutely crazy as to who Max was. Well something significant happened to a very close friends wife...his nickname for her is Max. I had completely forgot.

Also recently before I went to bed I asked my guides for any insight concerning the next day as I had mediation. I woke up and had "Amber" in my head. So I took amber with me to the meeting and when I got home I looked up it's properties. It was just what I needed for the given situation.

Good luck with Ararita Jones : ) I hope you don't mind...I have my pendulum out so I asked it if Ararita Jones is your guide and I got a very strong yes. LOL alot stronger than the questions I asked it.

lol! I get the same thing. It can be really annoying - as though my mind is "calling central" or something. So many names - and nothing comes up on Google.

Karmagoth, like Carla and yourself, I also experienced a weird tingle up my spine when I read your post. I believe this is significant...I just don't know why, as I haven't ever seen the name before...

Karmagoth, reading posts here from people such as yourself is never a "bother"...it is a pleasure and a privilege. I really feel like this is the only place on the internet where we can each "come as we are" and not be judged or harassed by flamers or trolls. This is a very, very special forum indeed. So I hope you will know that I feel very blessed that you have shared such an intimate part of your journey with those (like me) you don't know and can trust that you will get serious (although sometimes funny/light-hearted) replies.

Secondly...
unfortunately, I personally have no knowledge of who or what Ararita Jones is. I wish you much luck on your quest and I think many of us can relate to the frustration and confusion you are going through. I am, however, very glad you had the presence of mind to write it down and I hope you will keep a dream journal, as it sounds as though you are already receiving the answers you seek.

Carla, that link is absolutely fascinating!! I have read through several pages of this both in the middle and at the beginning and though I am not necessarily into Crowley I am very fascinated by this author's work regarding the ritual described.

PS: Is it weird that my wedding ring has sapphires in it? LOL

Downwardspiral, no I don't mind you getting the pendulum out at all :) I'm very grateful to you. Two nights ago I asked again and saw a tiny dot of light on the wall across from me. I said 'are you Ararita Jones?' and the light got bigger and bigger and brighter and brighter and I tingled all over. I tried to keep my eyes open but the light got so bright and filled up the entire room so I just had to blink. And it was gone.

Do guides get cross if you try to connect every night? Do they need a break? Can you irritate them? I am so new to all this and, to be honest, I have never been spiritully inclined before. My tarot studies have been mostly academic based, memorizing and practising. This is quite a shock. An amazing, positive but bewildering shock!

Lotus Padma, I had never seen the name before either. It seemed so odd that an exotic name like 'Ararita' should be paired with the name 'Jones'!

Wildchilde, however did you find that link?!!!!!! I've been searching a week and it hasn't popped up at all! Thankyou so so much. I read:

and I had tears running down my face. Especially at the 'ehyeh'asher'eyeh. I will be who I will be. (And as an added coincidence, the repetition of Unique... my name is Nique).

Most of all, thankyou for making me feel that I'm not going mad. I had resigned myself to being mechanical, not spiritual. Then when this happened I wondered if I was connecting or loopy. I have the utmost respect for all those on a spiritual journey and feel honoured and humbled that there is a chance I may be starting one of my own after all. x x x

you are not loopy, Nique :) (what a beautiful name! :D Lucky you to have it!)

Others here will answer you more in depth, but I can tell you that my niece converses with her spirit guide often, but often also he is out of reach for her. She tells me that he is busy teaching and reaching out to others on her wavelength, so he is not just her spirit guide, but is watching over others, as well. I know that mine comes as a strong inner voice, and she pops up when I least expect it. ;) so it is understandable if they don't come each time you try to connect...and, sometimes I find mine comes to me in the form of amulets - because mine is more related to an ancient goddess, I will sometimes find a pendant of her or a reference to her, something anyways, in the oddest places...it is like she is reminding me she is there for me :)

The important thing is that she has made herself known to you, and that she DOES connect :) probably, she comes when you need her most...I loved the allusion to her being a lion. How awesome! How strong! And how beautifully it all fits with your name :)

not quite sure spirit guides have surnames....
it would seem odd to me, esp., if the surname was known to you...


and yes, i tried to google about this several times....got nothing....

just random names, if you can't find anything on them....
unless you are very clairvoyant and get their names before an illness,death,or accident
claims them...but how would you know whens, hows, etc...
i gave up on the 5 names i got, and don't get them anymore....
at least not with perfect strangers...
