Spells

louiseb

Has anyone used or come across some experience with spells, i ask out of curiosity due to a post i read earlier. Do spells work, or is it just wishfull thinking. It seems this subject rarely comes up on AT.

Thanks Louise

They don't work 100% of the time for various reasons, but I've found they work quite well the vast majority of the time.

Of course, it's not like Bewitched. You have to be realistic in your expectations, work with the way things happen naturally, and most often you have to do the footwork to help it along. For example, if you're unemployed and do a money spell it's not likely that it's going to work if you just sit on your butt and wait for the money to roll in. For the best results you should start looking for a job, and at very least you might want to buy a lottery ticket. Not that you're likely to win the jackpot, but you may just win a few dollars to help you along.

I learned from Wicca 101 books and others in the new age category. (There are a lot of strictly spell books on the market.)

It's good to have someone in person who can teach you to move energy, but if you've already got experience with that you may do just fine using books alone. I also had some friends who were also practitioners to help me along, but it was something that seemed to come quite naturally to me.

Whether it comes naturally or not, though, it is a skill and can be taught to anyone willing to learn.

thank sfor this info, i have never had an interest in spells, to be honest i only heard stories about events, one that springs to mind and it made me smile was a women who,s husband was a bit handy with his hands, she did a spell with chicken hearts and livers to make him suffer in pain, she buried them outside his appartment, the next day the local council/shire came and put a large statue of the holy mary right ontop of the buried remains of these chicken hearts and livers. I thought this amusing at the time, as i had visions of her preparing for the event and carefully huming a chant ect.
I will be looking into these spells with an open mind. Sounds interesting. Thankyou

That's not the type of spells I've come across in the sources I mentioned. That does sound like it might be a particular type of magic known as hoodoo. I don't know if it's OK to post a link to a site that deals more with hoodoo, but if you do a websearch for Lucky Mojo Curio I'm sure you'll be able to find the site where they have resources for learning about hoodoo as well.

I have had spells work but not always. I found it really depends on what you want to accomplish. I never used any formal spells from books. Usually I make my own that I typically use for cleansing and or spiritual guidance. The issue I find with the guidance I receive is it typically ends up being cryptic.

I never tried love spell kind of stuff because I don't believe in forcing others to do things that were not meant to happen.

I am sure if I had deities they would work more often but I focus more on my HGA at the moment because I am still searching for my path.

There is nothing wrong with seeking knowledge you just have to remember karma can be good and bad. As long as you don't go hurting people there is.nothing wrong with being informed. I have heard stories about hoodoo and voodoo don't know if they are true but like anything they act upon your intentions.good or bad.
