Oracle De-enabling

Penthasilia

I have gone back and forth with this one. If it's in here, I missed it. Thoughts?

Graven Images Oracle

LOL- can I say "yay" in a de-enabling thread??? ;)

I am using it for the deck of the week and have had some very hard, but spot on readings. The only drawback is the very shoddy publishing job- and I mean SHODDY!

The book is printed upside down from the cover, and the cards are on a horrible cheap stock that bends very easily.

But- I would buy it again in a heartbeat- it reads too well for me to ignore.

:)

Graven Images

I'm an oracle lover to the core and was glad to see this one leaving.

The idea behind it is wonderful, I'm a cemetery visitor and gravestone sitter, I know how moving and interesting they can be. I've also done a ton of photography for a group I used to belong to and recognize things that shouldn't happen on a commercially published project.

There isn't anything professional about the photography. Not every one is a dog of course, but lighting, setting, angles...euuu. bad.

And yes, the book is poorly made and if I remember right I wondered what were they thinking as far as box/kit/sack...they weren't.

You can visit cemeteries in your area, particularly seeking out pioneer cemeteries and make your own. The title, Graven Images, is brilliant. Titles don't make an oracle.

Guardians of Wisdom

my only quibble is the suit names. Rather than including two worlds, I would have been happier seeing all the suits as Peoples, or all the suits as Earth elementals (gnomes; salamanders; undines; and sylphs) or all suits of Otherworld, whatever that constitutes besides angels and goddesses.

Cards are designed to be used with reversals.

Mythic Oracle?

Anyone have an opinion about the Mythic Oracle? I think it's out as a reprint now.

I had thought of getting it to go with my Mythic Tarot. I love Greek mythology and I think the artist did the Shadowscapes that is so popular. But the art looks like a still from "Xena" so I was turned off.

Does it give great readings?

The Messenger Oracle. I don't need this right? Even though the beautiful owl on the cover haunts me. I don't need another oracle.

I don't have The Messenger Oracle so I checked it out. It looks very detailed, very colourful and I noticed that it had keywords. I would probably be tempted to read the deck from the keywords rather than concentrating on the artwork but it does come with a companion book. I wonder if you would need to read this book before really getting into the cards.

On the website you can see all the cards, to be honest I'm very tempted by the beauty of this oracle too but being beautiful, for me, doesn't make it readable.
