I haven't yet sewn myself a spreadcloth, but I'm starting to feel inspired!! :D :D

Those are indeed beautiful fringes, TB. I know the technique; I seldom have the patience. :)

Something I found in storage while searching for something else - Stars, Moons, and little clouds? (and a little fleck of sparkles} Not serious enough?

A few years ago I bought a yard of blue star & swirl pattern, intending to make a cloth out of it, but nothing happened. Then some time later I saw a friend's small altar cloth made of the same pattern, only purple, and it had purple braid edging on it. Well, I just came across that piece, and I know where I can get that pattern in 5 different colors; I already have the blue, and at the moment I have no interest in the gray, but I really need to get one each of purple, red, and green! And some kind of edging for all four. That ought to last me a while. :)

For those of us who DON'T sew....

I can sew on a button, fix a small tear, beyond that, where's the stapler?

But I've ordered some things from our own Madame Squee who now is on Etsy as Full Moon Cloth.
Lovely skills. For those of us who can't, or don't want to do our own sewing.....nicely done, Squee!

Thank you very much, greatdane! I've enjoyed working with you so much!

I plan to add more reading cloths later this week. I'll post some pictures here when they're ready.

I prefer more rustic reading cloths.
The one I love the most is one my mom knitted for me in deep red colours.

(here showing off my kindle and some candy)
Easy to wash too (good since I sometimes put mugs of tea on it and my cat likes it)

My project will be to find a sturdy piece of unbleached linnen and embroider on it.

Wow, jema! The candy even coordinates with your cloth!

Unbleached linen - good luck! Real linen of any kind is very hard to find here in America - the land of permanent press! I think I have a piece of bleached linen somewhere that I once acquired to try my hand at cutwork with the buttonhole stitch on my sewing machine - never got a round tuit!

Wow! Embroidery is so cool, and I cannot wait to see your reading cloth, jema!

Lately, I've been wanting to do more with free-motion quilting. Here's a pic of some my practice pieces from last year, paired with the Halloween cotton fabric I'm working on today.

Gosh! I just wish I had your lovely tin candy here in front of me! I'm just about to enjoy a steaming mug of Morning Thunder tea and would love to sample just a couple of those sugary red pieces! })
