Which original backs are not reversible? I only have the US Games reprint, which I assume reproduces the back Le Fanu is talking about - the blue and white with the Egyptian figures and cartouches, with Taro, Rota, etc, spelled, but the image is reflected so it's reversible.

The white box version has backs that have PRS in the center. The tuckbox version has the same back as the USG version. If I have time later today I'll scan them in and post them.

Knapp-Hall is an interesting deck. Manly P. Hall is the guy who wrote The Secret Teachings of All Ages, which is an introduction to the Western Esoteric Tradition. I would like to have one if it weren't so pricey, but I would use it only to study the symbolism. It is one of the decks used by the occultist P. F. Case before he changed to Rider-Waite and then ultimately the B.O.T.A., a revision of the R-W which he designed.

I think the Sacred-texts site has most of the content:

I was finally able to get my order through today after changing credit cards (I don't think it takes Discover), even though it went through Paypal and came from my bank account rather than the card.

I just emailed them to say I am not buying one unless they change the link to go direct to paypal, as the whole point of that is NOT having to put card details in on a site we don't know. We shall see.....

(I do have their 1981 reprint, so I will easily get over the sorrow :D)

Good! I thought that was incredibly stupid. Unfortunately I don't have either editions so I caved. :p

It's the PRINCIPLE - in fact I imagine they are perfectly safe - though if push came to shove I would use my paypal card (which I only use for paypal) so as to make it easier to go after them if they DID cheat me ! I think the card company would buy my complaint if there were two exact same amounts within a few minutes to the same people. :)
