Without knowing your situation ~

If you once received accurate readings and now get rubbish - there may be a few reasons:

1) You have asked the same question (even in different forms) too many times in a short span of time; the universe moves in it's own time frame and it is not yours ...

2) You need to ask 'better' questions, or better formulated questions ... rubbish questions get rubbish answers; unfocused questions get unfocused answers ...

3) You may be looking for the 'answer you want to hear' and not the 'answer you need'; if you are only reading for yourself you may need to find someone else to do a objective reading for you ...

4) You have hit the burn-out point and need to stop and re-charge your Tarot batteries; it happens to all of us ...

Just my two cents ...

Onion Budgie

Also, are you reading with the same deck you used when you used to get accurate readings? Some decks we just can't connect with, they don't read right for us, we're unable to bond with them no matter what. I haven't yet bonded with my Morgan-Greer, and the readings I get from that are very different to my beloved Rider-Waite.

What he said.

Frustration snowballs if you allow it to. The more frustrated and confused you make yourself, the more you feed it. The cards most likely are not inaccurate, but your interpretations, colored by your lack of faith in the process, are.

Tarotbear's #4 suggestion is the best thing to do here. Take some time, let the frustration drain from you, recharge yourself and start again.

Onion Budgie is correct as well.

There is a force at work. His power and will is greater than that of the spirits summoned to provide answers through the cards.

My experience with tarot is very short but this happened to me.
Sometimes everything seem wrong and the cards seem to have nothing to do with the situation, and as you said the readings seem inacurate. After a break (I avoid my daily card too) everything get back to normal.

1) You have asked the same question (even in different forms) too many times in a short span of time; the universe moves in it's own time frame and it is not yours ...

The second half of your answer may be relative to predictions not manifesting during a period of time. Readers perform readings on time frames all of the time. So, are you suggesting that tarot cannot provide accurate readings in timing because the of something having to do with the "universe"?

2) You need to ask 'better' questions, or better formulated questions ... rubbish questions get rubbish answers; unfocused questions get unfocused answers ...

The response will be relative to the question either way. I think the sitter may have the mental capacity to understand this. I wouldn't asked how someone feels about me and expect to receive an answer that tells me how much he liked my red dress last week.

3) You may be looking for the 'answer you want to hear' and not the 'answer you need'; if you are only reading for yourself you may need to find someone else to do a objective reading for you ...

Again, discernment is key. Sitters are well aware of what they want to hear as opposed to what the cards are actually telling them. If not, the mental state is questionable.

I've hit the "burn out" point, lost interest but still provide accurate readings.

Huh, not everyone feels this is true, so perhaps there are other reasons. I for one don't 'summon' any spirits to talk through cards or me or anything, so that does not apply to me. However, if *you* feel it applies to you and that there is some sort of conflict between some higher being ('He") and these 'spirits', then maybe your own situation is showing you you need to rethink your approach--it almost sounds like you feel you shouldn't be doing it or something, or should be doing it only in accordance with your religious beliefs etc.--unsure if this is what you meant.

EDIT: Oh, I thought this was the OP making judgements on his or her own post.

What you're saying is not entirely true. What we as readers assume is behind the tarot or not does not change what is actually behind the tarot. For all any of us know, there may be "spirits" behind it. Your belief or intention does not change the reality.

So as not to completely derail the thread, I will throw in another potential reason.

Intention, in my opinion, is really a key. When one starts to disbelieve, your intention may shift from seeking an honest answer to becoming more of "I dare you to answer my question". Once your intentions are not aligned properly, it may very well throw your reading completely off as well as simple frustration.

I also believe that whatever is operating behind the tarot curtain can sometimes tell us to basically get lost and give us gibberish on purpose.
