No,seriously, I'm glad the DDT exchange circle exists, because otherwise I'd never get to use it, and I love it. No other dark deck does darkness in quite the same way.

Any thoughts on Crowe's Magick?

I'm not sure how I feel about mostly animal imagery.

So I recently took the plunge and bought the BG. My decks consisted of mass market easily gotten mostly US Games decks - and I will share the BG is worth the investment. it's a rich and complex deck and to me it's worth the price - I could get 3 decks that are eh or one that is outstanding. I think this experience will make me think more before purchasing a deck through Amazon. Not that mass market isn't ok - Goddess knows it is - but there is something special about this deck.

But I would also recommend Places Vampire deck. Also amazing - as long as you can get past the thick card stock.

What a timely message. I have been so on the fence with BG because I would want the mini deck, which is for whatever reason, more expensive than the bigger size cards. Not sure what that's about?

I'm hoping they get Robert Place to do the pocket size version of his Vampire deck. That would be awesome!

Calling all deck makers!!! manufacturers!!! There are no "dark" pocket size decks out there. Major hole in the market!!

I will still likely get BG mini at some point...maybe they'll run a discount lol!

There is a very good reason, actually. The backs of the mini are inlaid with silver foil (or silver ink, I forget which), so they are wonderfully luxurious. I'm not a mini deck person, but the Baba minis are in a class all of its own.

And I do completely agree with Sophia77. The BG is one of those rare decks that are worth every penny.

They are selling the regular size BG on discount now for $39 (without a box), but I just know I won't use it as much as a mini/pocket.

For me, my top 3 dark decks are:
Night Sun
Necronomicon
Deviant Moon

I honestly get the best readings out of these decks and the darker symbolism is wonderful. The characters in the decks are lovely and sometimes a little less traditional, but for me it makes the readings better.

I am also going to be getting the HR Giger deck and that looks wonderfully dark as well as the Alchemy 1977 deck

Barbara Walker Tarot?

Perhaps it is Barbara Walker Tarot. I'm thinking it is the "darkest" deck I have at the moment. It seems "darker" than Night Sun and those are the only two candidates I have in the "dark" category.

The Night Sun and Deviant Moon decks are my favorite although I do adore the alchemy 1977 England deck as well. I recently got it and it has been great so far.
Another good one is the Black Tarot, although it didn't work for me personally but I know people who love it.
The Dark Fairytale deck is gorgeous as well. I know the Tarot of the Vampyres is well-liked as a dark deck among a lot of readers I know.

I've been thinking about getting Tarot of the Vampires for awhile. Everyone likes the book a lot too. I want Place's Vampires, but I'm waiting to see if he does the pocket edition, which I would prefer to regular size.

I thought I might like Alchemy 1977 England, but I'm thinking it might wear off. The imagery seems borderline cheesy.
