For the past few months my partner of 26 odd years has been "off". I have done a few health readings, more for practise than anything else, and certainly did not expect the level of bad news, but they have come to be quite informative, and I thought the cards drawn may be of assistance to others who do health readings. He has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, with a life expectancy of around 3 months without treatment, and 6 months with chemo and radiation therapy, all being well.
Note, these cards are not from full readings, but are taken from various readings over the past couple of months. I used Rider Waite, with reversals.
Before the diagnosis, asking what was wrong with him, I got the 7 of Cups, to which I was immediately drawn to the figure that has a shroud over it, that is "something undercover that hasn't been revealed as yet".
For a general astrological spread, I got the Tower for the position of marriage/partners - which I take to be the shock at the sudden bad news regarding his health.
Illness and disease in the same spread, I got 7 of Cups, which once again, I think shows something not revealed at the time of the reading, that was under wraps.
When we went to the GP, I got 2 of Cups, which I take to represent the GP, and 2 of Wands as to what the GP will do. As the GP requested scans and x-rays, and given the man looking at the globe, I'm thinking this was referring to him having to have extensive x-rays and scans that were ordered by the GP.
The result of a CT scan was the Page of Cups reversed, which I feel indicated that something abnormal was found in the scan, as shown by the fish in the cup. (I previously did a reading for a friend who had to have an x-ray, and the card was the Page of Cups upright. He was told there was something abnormal on the x-ray, but it wasn't serious).
For the next week I got 4 of Swords, which I think indicates that he will be laid low, as he is starting chemotherapy and radiation therapy next week.
For the position of death, I got King of Wands reversed, which I now take to be his death (he usually comes up as King of Wands or the Emperor, as he is an Aries and very much embodies the King of Wands and the Emperor).
The outcome to his health was 9 of Wands reversed, as well as 7 of Wands reversed, both of which I think indicate him being defeated by the Cancer and having to give up the fight.
I have also received the 6 of Swords repeatedly regarding his condition, which now appears to represent his difficulty in breathing and a feeling of choking, (as he has a significant growth which is making it difficult for him to breath, as well as swallow) as well as the inability to move past this illness.
And finally, for ultimate outcome, I received Temperance reversed and the Star reversed, which I took to be a lack of balance and the inability to heal and the general hopelessness of the situation.
Interestingly, about a year ago, I drew a couple of cards regarding our relationship, and got the Tower, followed by the 10 of Cups. I couldn't for the life of me understand how this would make sense. As it now stands, it makes perfect sense, as after his diagnosis, we are getting married on Saturday.
I hope these cards help others and apologise for my brief interpretation of them - I haven't had any time since he was diagnosed a week ago with his illness.
