Tarot Power

Tanga

A Caul is often confused with a piece of placenta stuck on the baby's head but it's actually quite different.... It's a skin mask over the baby's face with loops that go around the ears... He was obviously very proud of it, he once gave it to me to hold. :)

The rods will do what ever I want them to do, they will cross for yes and split apart for know if I want, or do the opposite if that's what I want. But that is NOT dowsing, it's only the ideomotor effect. The ideomotor effect works on expectation , or when you Know. True dowsing is when the rods react when you are not expecting them to. You really need to put yourself into a mild trance to get them to work.

Bob told me that what he tapped into when reading the cards was what he called the force. He said there are several ways to tap into it, and dowsing rods is one of those ways.

I hadn't confused it with the placenta.
And Eww... Lol.
Did he tell you what the significance was for him?

And yes I understood the "true dowsing" bit too. :)

Sorry for being thick but I just don't get it.

It's OK - hopefully you will soon.

Yes Sorry Sulis.
SaskMick was wondering whether his ability to dowse would help him learn Tarot quicker.
I just went off on a tangent to the topic of course. :)

What has dowsing got to do with reading Tarot? Whilst all these explanations of dowsing are very interesting, we are supposed to be discussing tarot here.

Dowsing uses the same force as tarot. It's the same thing, just a different way to get at it.

SaskMick

Did he tell you what the significance was for him ?

No but it obviously meant a lot to him. His mother gave it to him before she died.... I got the impression it was an honour to be allowed to hold it.

As any form of Divination? :)

Now I'm dying to know why - for them particularly... :)
My A-level sports instructor should have been allowed to keep his 6th fingers...
LOL. But of course - such things can have quite different connotations in different cultures.

SaskMick

And neither do we (rhetorical question) - nor whether it's exactly the same for Tarot and Dowsing.

He said it was the same force, that's good enough for me.

Why it meant so much to them (such an honour to be allowed to hold the caul). :) :) :) :) :)

Because it was such a highly valued possession.

We had better just talk strictly about tarot, not the force behind it. I don't want to get banned before my cards have even arrived.

Yes I got that - and to clarify - I was saying I WONDER WHY it was so highly prized - that's all.
Lol. (which we'll never know because we cannot ask them).

**You could always start a separate discussion thread about whether "The Power" is the same for Tarot and all other forms of divination. :)
