moon sign and rising

I once read a very short but accurate description:

The sun is what we want, the moon is what we need and the ascendant (rising sign) is how we get these things.

You may want to read "Astrology for the Light Side of the Brain" by Kim Rogers-Gallagher. It's written in plain English with a little humor thrown in...very easy for beginners to understand. She also has a book out on transits, "Astrology for the Light Side of the Future".

I've seen that book mentioned in the catalogues but I've never seen it on the shelves - sounds a good read and anything that provides an easy entry is welcome.
