i just put a long 4-part post on the process of coloring the CBD Tarot de Marseille, a restored version of the Conver (1760) "standard" deck. i put it in the "Marseilles & Other Early Decks" section, as it is mainly relevant to Marseille-type Tarot lovers, but some of my considerations (artistic and technical) may be relevant to others who do their own cards in different styles. so this post is just a reference to the long discussion here
