Working With Law Enforcement

Ruthann

Would anyone have an idea which spread(s) I could use in helping local law enforcement find missing people?

Thank you.

Missing person spread?

That thread includes two spreads you may like...

Thirteen's World Spread
Use the World Card as your guide. Put a card at the center to stand for your missing person (a court card you feel is them in a nutshell). Then lay out the cards as follows:

4*********1
*****0****
3*********2

#1 is Scorpio--where are they at emotionally, psychologically? Angry? Sad? Numb?

#2 is Leo--who is with them? Among friends? Enemies? Strangers? Family?

#3 is Taurus--what is their physical location? Where on the planet are they standing? Or are they on the move?

#4 is Aquarius--where are the planning to go? Do?

And then add a 5th card to cross the one at the center. Let that one be "Advise?" (i.e, should you keep searching? Call? Worry? Relax?)

The Lost & Found Spread (from "Power Tarot" by Trish MacGregor & Phyllis Vega). It is apparently intended to locate lost objects, but it could be used for a missing person.
It is laid out as follows:

------------------------10------
1----3--------6---------9------
--------------------------8------
---2----4----5----7------------

1. The object (in this case, the person) that is lost
2. Something you need to know about this loss
3-4. Where to begin your search
5. Who or what will help
6-7. Factors to be considered in your search
8-10. Outcome

Thank you! I'll be trying those spreads out. My dh is a police officer and I'd like to help anyway I can when a missing person's case comes up. I've helped out behind the scenes (at home w/dh) intuitively and have been spot-on but I think the cards can help out and "give" more information.

Thanks again! :)

If you have a certain area where the person might be, you could design a "map" - put the cards on certain landmarks, and read the card in conjunction to the place... I'm not explaining this very well. Think of it like dowsing on a map of the area, only you're using cards instead of a pendulum. Say there is a woodland area; your card for that "position" is the 10 of Swords; you'd interpret it as the energy of the place, or what happened there.

Something I remember from the Kipper cards is that you assign certain cards beforehand as "keys", that is, if one of those cards turns up, it confirms your question (say, if you want to know if your court case will turn out well, you assign the card of "great fortune" as a yes: If the card turns up subsequently, your court case will be decided favourably for you). You could assign a significator for the MP and see if and where it turns up. (Doesn't mean you'll find the person there, but could mean that the person has been there, perhaps leaving some clues for further investigation).

I'd be interested to know if and how well this or the other suggested spreads works.

I have used the kings as keys with pips indicating direction, successfully. Any card that follows the king is a direction if a pip or a landmark/clue if any other card. You could use the number to gauge distance and the traditional association for direction.
