It' makes a big difference... to me anyway. Dunno, I usually never read cards in a chronological order unless it's a past/present/future spread.
Perhaps it means that this person feels they need to tie up loose ends and/or dispel any miscommunications that have occurred recently (Ten of Swords) in order to restore balance to the relationship (The Lovers).
Well, at least the Ten of Swords has meant the need to communicate better and tie up threads that were left hanging for me in the past...
