MagsStardustBlack

Congratulations MoonGypsy for winning a deck.

Iv just seen this thread and im stunned at the beauty of these images, with a lovely 'graffiti' style to the colours and shading. So beautiful, im looking forward to getting a copy of this one too. Good luck to the artist with producing and publishing, best wishes x

MagsStardustBlack

Is there a website? Been trawling the thread, but maybe I missed it....

Hi MagsStarDustBlack,
I have been following your updates. Your images are so thoughtful and sensitive, I am looking forward to following your journey, and always read when you post an update.
You have my best wishes. It is a huge mission and rather blindingly life-changing.

I have a link to around half of the deck from my profile page. I have not posted anymore for quite a few months. I do not have a website for the deck as yet, my website is a gallery site for the sale of the original art works for the deck.

As I restart the scanning and photoshop bits of the project I will post a few more of the more recent images and see what folk think about my finalised lay outs before I put them in the hands of the printers.
For me the paintings have been the area where I am in my element the next part has me nervous, I am a little at the mercy of external factors.

Thank you for your time and your lovely words.

Oh thankyou I will get the link to have a look at the other images. And that is so kind of you to say a lovely complement on my images :.) I love it in this forum as all deck creations are so unique and such diversity. I am so curious about the name 'Bonefire' such an origional name im sure with a unique concept from your wonderful imagination.

My deck will take forever to paint, I have little ones, so I just paint in my spare time usually at night. Thankyou for the inspiration and encouragement to go on :.)

MoonGypsy- it's you!
The last card was the 9 of Cups. Well done.
I am pretty intrigued as to how you guessed.
Rylla, sorry you were pipped to the post.

A million thanks to all of you who have continued to support me, via this thread. I am sure other deck artists would agree that you really do contribute to making new decks happen. If I had not found this forum and Aeclectic during my research, everything might have been quite different and Bonefire would have faltered after the majors.
I wish I could have a party to launch the deck and invite you as honoured guests.

On a more practical note, I have painted the card back today and got one very encouraging quote from an Aussie printer. They are not playing card specialists though so I have concerns about card stock.
If anyone has had decks done in this way I would love to hear about any pitfalls.

MoonGypsy I will pm you and sort out your details..... You clever thing.

Congratulation MoonGypsy! I'm happy for you and I am happy that this deck is coming alive! Ever since I saw it a few month ago I can't wait to hold a copy! Knowing that it is going to be published is a gift in itself and I am grateful to you MagsStardustBlack that you are going to publish it (and we all will have a chance to enjoy it ! :)

Bonefire started this way too. My little ones are much bigger than they were when I started. Most of the deck was done in the hours between 9 pm and 2 am, though I find I can not recommend this, as it does not leave you in great shape physically or mentally.
The trouble is when you get the bit between your teeth and I think you will, Tarot becomes a force of nature, it became more possessive of my time and as such, I had to bring it to a point of completion in order to regain balance in my life. This has not yet happened, but I have great hopes. I realise this might sound bit ridiculous, something of which I am frequently guilty , just be prepared for tarot taking the upper hand in your life.
My process was try to get the research and drawings for the cards done in the day( lucky enough to have both part-time and mentally unchallenging work) when my mental processes were clearer and the girls were at school and to paint late a few nights a week. This enabled me to get into the right space to colour the images. This is, by now, a somewhat subconscious process and does not require the inventive part of my mind to be firing on all cylinders. This is the bit I will really miss now the deck is complete.
Thanks for asking about the Bonefire concept. I am just now working on that particular piece of writing for the LWB and when It is comprehensible I will post it on this thread, to explain myself a little.
