The thing is though, even if you have already met your coming love interest, or even been in a relationship with them in the past, it's all subjective...for example, you were in a relationship say a couple years ago...and split up for whatever reason. And then this person comes back into your life and you get back together. It is still a coming relationship, and in a sense a "new" relationship, because your past relationship "ended"...in that case the position could speak for what they felt when you met....or it could speak for how they felt when they saw you again for the first time in awhile, perhaps the realization that they missed you.
I do think in this case the cards would be more "specific" in that you would be more apt to recognize the traits in the cards. For example, I have a friend who was in a relationship for a couple of years. Her ex was invariable represented in the cards by the Knight of Swords. They split up for quite awhile, and then in a couple of readings(not this one)she did on future relationship, lo and behold there was the Knight of Swords. The combination of that particular card, along with a couple of others that really pointed his way, and her own gut feelings, told her the next one was him, even though she really didn't think it would be. Mainly because it wasn't a real nice split and she had mixed feelings on the possibility of letting him back into her life. But he did indeed reappear, and they did get back together. Even though the spreads she did were geared more towards a new relationship, they still pointed to him. She joked that it was like everything old becomes new again, but really that is a very apt description when speaking in terms of relationships, because an old relationship can "renew" in a sense. I think that's why it's so important to pay close attention not only to the cards themselves and how they fall, but to the feeling that you get when you initially turn each card over. Because very often that initial "sense" is exactly on the money.
